It's a simple question that hopefully has a simple answer. Do arrow-specific preparations such as Kindle Arrows also apply to Spears? I ask this because "arrow" does not specifically limit it to bow attacks and spears are the first non-bow ranged physical attack.
If you can apply "arrow" specific preparations that opens up a few possibilties with Favorable Wind, Read the Wind, Kindle Arrows, Incendiary Arrows, etc.

Well I suppose Apply Poison is still almost reason enough. If you can tag someone with burning bleeding and poison in one throw, that's pretty good. Troll Unguent doesn't seem as attractive saying the Paragon has plenty of other self-heals, but maybe some stances, traps, and apply poison could really help out.

Apply Poison and Tiger Fury are reason enough to combine the Ranger and Paragon. As a Spear Throwing damage dealer the Paragon needs some serious help from a secondary profession. These have to come in the form of IAS, degen or weapon buffs.
I imagine there is smoke coming out of a lot of people ears right now as they are grinding the mental gears trying to figure out all the possible secondaries for the Fighting Paragon.

Fighting paragon would probably be a P/R
Apply Poison -> Barbed Spear -> Blazing Spear
The other skill would either be Spear of Lightning or Vicious Attack. Or Cruel Spear. I'm thinking SoL. Blazing Spear could be taken out for Anthem of Flame. And Glowing Signet for energy. Hmmmmmm.

What is the max armor for a Paragon?
I was thinking after reading some of the skills that a P/W might be an definate fighting possibility as well. Depending on armor level they could go melee, and they have some good adrenaline gain skills that would work well with some of the warrior's weapon line, as well as of course having Watch Yourself and various other shouts at their disposal for energy, buffs, defense, etc.
They have lower armor level, but we may find its offset with some of their skills, and slightly higher energy and energy regen. They may not be a warrior-type stick in there and take the damage, but as the second or third person into the fray and adding conditions and adrenaline gain to yourself and teammates would seem like it would work.
I also do like the condition-spreading idea of using a ranger secondary as well.
Edit: I just realized this was mostly off-topic...ahh well:cool:

Paragons have base 80 AL armor like warriors. The strongest armors currently known adds +10 AL versus elemental and +10 AL to fire or lightning depending on the set.
So with a shield, a paragon would have 96 AL against physical damage, 106 AL against elemental attacks, and 116 AL against fire or lightning attacks depending on the armor chosen
In comparision, Rangers with a bow will have base 70 AL against physical damage, 100 AL against elemental damage and 115 AL against cold, fire or lightning depending on the armor.
Paragon: 80 armor, 2 regen, 30 energy
vs.
Warrior: 80 armor & +20 vs. Physical, 2 regen, 20 energy + Absorption Runes
Mmm, Paragons could go melee (In PvE) and be better at soaking up all the elemental garbage that gets thrown at tanks than Warriors, and still have the -2 physical damage bonus from their shield. They'd make a superb melee tank in The Fire Island Chain or Southern Shiverpeaks.
Thing is... when a spear is as good as a sword, they can play damage sponge in a ranged encounter too (like against Ice Imps) without being as much of an aggro liability.
edit: looking at their armour again... 106 vs elements and a spear is like being a toughened shortbow ranger. 96AL vs physical and -2 physical damage is nothing to sneeze at either.

Hmmm. What other armor stacking skills are there. Too bad Dolyak Sig and Defy Pain are in Strength..
Physical Res, Watch Yourself!, hmmmm. Well, +40 AL vs phys should do the trick I'd say.
