Need A Good Dervish / ? Hero Build

Anyone have any good ideas for a Dervish / ? Hero build? I pretty much know nothing about Dervishes and their skills but I'd like to set up Melonni as best I can. Any help would be appreciated.

I basically just use a Chilling Victory combo. I gave her some health runes and skills to boost her max hps. She goes in with about 700 hps total.

Then I just have her spam Chilling Victory over and over. If she hits the maximum three targets, and out-hps all of them, it'll hit everything in the area for 300 damage with a 5-second cooldown, with hits landing in-between.

I'll admit that it's narrow-minded, but it's unbelievably effective.

You have to be careful that she doesn't spam it against enemies that have more hps than she has. Disable the skill for most situations and have backup, cheaper skills.



Alternatively (or in addition to) you can use many of the different quick enchantments that give conditions or damage to enemies in the area. They don't hit nearly as hard as Chilling Victory, but they're non-conditional, so you don't have to worry about keeping Vital Blessing or something up.

what skills do you use for all three? theyre not much use if we dont know which skills to unlock :P

I too just arrived looking for a Dervish hero build. Having just picked up the Derv... I'm about to do the mision after seeing inscriptions on the wall.

Key thing for me is I'm trying to get Survivor. So I need a solid build that won't distrct any healing from myself and one than is self sufficent. :)

I was thinking rit with some of the weapon spells as I know this quite well.

stats: 16 scythe mastery, 13 mysticism
second one: plague touch, mystic sweep, twin moon sweep, chilling victory, grenth fingers, avatar of grenth, zealous renewal, res sig
stats: 16 scythe, 10 wind prayers, 10 mysticism
last one: vital boon, pios assault, twin moon sweep, chilling victory, dust cloack, avatar of melandru, zealous renewal
stats: 16 scythe, 10 earth prayers, 10 mysticism

they all look alike with little difference in details witch makes them all very powerfull against certain foes and in certain area i like the balthazar most though...

Well this is what I've been using since reaching the mainland:
Dervish / Warrior
Scythe Mastery: 12 (Can't find a rune)
Mysticism: 12 (10+1+1 woo found a minor rune >>)
Earth Prayers: 8 (Can't find a rune)

Wild Blow
Mystic Sweep
Twin Moon Sweep
Pious Renewal [e]
Vital Boon
Signet of Pious Light
Faithful intervention
Sunspear Rebirth Sig

Well I guess it's a pretty standard dev/war build, just use pious renewal ->wild->mystic->twin->back to pious renewal or if you want switch out mystic out with pious assault and alternate between assault and twin with pious renewal in between.

BTW anyone have a build which uses an elite form?

I currently have melonni running around with lyssa's avatar(from pvp unlock), weakening strike (the one that inflicts weakness on the user) and plague touch. I'm only on the starter island but shes seems to be doing fine. :wink:

the d/w is pretty populair in the start of mainland cause of the kournar bowman witch activate their whirling the moment you attack them...

Just out of curiosity, how does one SPAM a skill with a 10s recharge? Yes, Chilling Victory is a great skill and should be used whenever you face more than one foe, but you CAN'T spam it....

I will have to confirm it tonight when I get home, but Wild Blow is supposed to be a "core skill" or, at least, accessible in Nightfall. Check the "view skills" box in the GW Online Store for the PvP Edition of Nightfall. Check the Warrior skills and you'll see Wild Blow somewhere in there, I'm pretty sure.

If it was a Prophecies skills, regardless of how many PvE/PvP Editions I had, I couldn't buy this skill anywhere but in Tyria, which isn't the case.

Maybe it's only available till later on. Maybe not, that I don't know since I got the PvP Edition so everything is available from the start. =/

Sorry, I know this isn't the newcomer forum, but uh.. what exactly are those letters and numbers? How do we use them to make a build? :huh:

The letters and numbers are the text found in template files (new thing in nightfall). u put them in then start up and you can load them directly in as the template, instead of manually.
