I seem to be experiencing the bug which causes the Acolyte of Lyssa to not spawn in the Fort in Sunward Marches...
Just Before I started capping avatar skills I completed the Cemetery Mission...
Capped Melandru (fort in Marga Cost)
Capped Grenth (fort in Arkjok Ward)
Capped Dwayna (fort in Dejarin Estate)
Capped Balthazar (smaller fort in Jahai Bluffs)
Go to Cap Lyssa...Fort is empty... (Fort in Sunward Marches)
I've tried going to the fort from the Cemetery mission area...
I've tried going to the fort from the Cemetery mission area...while on the mission
I've tried going to the fort from the Dajkah Inlet
I've tried going to the fort from the Command Post
The only time something spawns in the fort is during the Cemetery Mission...but for that it's only archers and the Fort Doors are closed.
I tried teaming with someone who hadn't done the Cemetery mission yet...no luck....I've tried it with someone who had already completed "To Vabbi!"...no luck...
I've completely cleared out my quests to make sure there was nothing interfering...no luck
I don't know what else to do...
Is this where the Acolyte is supposed to spawn or is it somewhere else?
Can anyone help me on this?
btw I love the elite forms...especially Balthazar (skill and looks) and Grenth (looks)

I have just defeat that Kournan boss, that have Avatar of Lyssa with my Sin, he/she spawned in the middle of the fort. I went out from the command post and turned south

Shadow having Lyssa spawn correctly aside (I'm assuming by "went out from the command post and turned south" he means he went to the Sunward Marches fort), I'm having the same problem. Tried going in with a PUG several times and no luck. Then I tried again after capping Balthazar and still no luck. The rest of the avatars are spawning fine but Lyssa isn't there.
The only commonality I can think of is both with the PUG and when I redid it with henches someone had Avatar of Balthazar with them, but I can't imagine that'd make much of a difference though. :undecided:
Edit: No, not that. Went out without any Elites and tried to cap Lyssa and she was still a no-show. None of my quests are in the Sunward Marches but I'll try clearing them all out anyway later on before I try to cap Lyssa again.
Yep, extremely frustrating. Filed a report with Anet to see what's going on but no reply as of yet.
I am also unable to find this person... No show I've tried a lot of things.

I had no trouble finding this person, and I did it right when I got onto the main island.
I am now deep in Vabbi and the fort STILL remains completely empty.
Lyssa was showing up for me until I finished the Venta Cemetary mission, so it's either there or some point shortly after that she stops showing up.
Only advice I can give is to not be like me and so many others and get the elite before doing that mission.
I want that elite :/

Just curious to the people who capped avatar of Lyssa, granted if you remember, do you guys recall NOT doing the Cemetary mission before capping it? (To confirm Midnyt's post)

same problem here i hope arena net fix it theres no reason why u only can cap it ebfore doing mission so... go arena net ....
She was missing before I got general (or whatever rank it is), which is required to get the quest for the cemetary mission. So yeah, if something messes it up, it's not the mission.
Perhaps it is the rank that is causing the issue then, because I do remember seeing her there while I was a Commander.
I was trying to give a rough point where she stopped spawning for me, so sorry if I've mislead any of you.
Does'nt make much sense though really, why would your rank in particular affect what monsters spawn in an instance?
I tired a few things.
Brought Tyrian characters over and ran right there, he spawned.
Grouped someone who can't spawn Lyssa with the Tyrian character, no spawn.
Tried with no heroes, no spawn.
Tried again with only a Tyrian Character (to make sure it wasn't a one time only spawn), Lyssa spawned.
So yeah...
/edit Turns out the person I was with in Sunward marches the first time had completed the cemetary, so that's actually the most likely explanation.

Hadn't done the cemetary mission yet, was a Sunspear Canstellan (the rank after General) and hadn't completed the third "Building the Command Post" quest. The acolyte was there, captured the skill and all that jazz.
Same problem with me and a friend of mine. We have both tried to cap the skill but when we go out to the fort together or apart the fort is empty.

Yeah it seems that completeing the mission causes the person to stop spawning.

I did not do Cemetary mission and Acolyte of Lyssa spawned. (I was on "And a hero shall lead them). Building the command post shouldnt make that much of a difference since its a sidequest.
Same here, I capped lyssa before any of the others and before the cemetery mission, now I'm really glad I did.
Sorry for those of you who are out, hope ANet fixes it.
I sure hope they'll fix it... It would be a shame to have capped the other 4 avatars and missing out on this one on with my dervish.

Far be it from me to question the wisdom of Anet, but why would you tie in an elite to appear only if certain conditions are met, but not give massive hints to this? I had no idea until much later that the avatars were in the forts. I naively assumed that since they were mimmicking the Gods, they'd be there. So either put in another place to cap it, or remove the requirements. Because I cannot think of any other class( Brand New Class, no less that makes you lose an elite. Very bad planning, in my humble opinion.

Must be a bug. I just beat NF with my Dervish and I was going around capping elites and I can't get Lyssa to spawn. I hope it is a bug anyway, and hopefully it'll get fixed soon.

It would be easy to relax if they actually hadn't taken their time fixing that. All the denial that went with it (mainly from the community) as well. :laughing:
Hmm, anyone else think that "The Hunger" got the boss after Venta Cemetary?

Is this really a bug or not should be the question, if not then perhaps I will just remake the dervish since i am not far into the game. Remember this is all new so don't expect everything to work 100% yet. Have fun !

Yea, i didnt start cappin elites for my derv till i was in vabbi, hopefully, if this isn't a bug, then Lyssa's can be capped elsewhere, perhaps the challnege mish or in the sulfur wastes:/
Been all the way to the end of the game and was not able to get Lyssa. I can go back to where she is suspposed to be but nothing. I never saw any other boss with that skill.
I dont wanna be a ashole, but i preaty sure, that this is not a bug. Its like: if u r smart, u have it. If no... We got now 7 days when we play nfall. no reply form anet. Support if dead. It dont look's good. However, i got some baaaad idea to make another dervish... But i W8. I hope, that anet dont scew us all. If they do... well they lost a lot of respect. at least in my eye's.

It was the form I mosted wanted to play about with too!
Ah well in time it'll appear, maybe this weekend when they'll do the dye updates and remove the halloween stuff.

I just capped Lyssa, have NOT done Cemetary mission as yet.
OK, so according to you and your awful spelling "stupid" people i.e. most people who wanted to play the game and not do all the millions of side quests / explore areas are just SOL from Anet? Right... It's definately a bug, as the other 4 spawn fine no problems.

Yep you're right - nothing we can do about it. I guess it isn't one of the forms I immediately want to play about with and I will be getting my Paragon through after my Dervish before I PvP so hopefully it'll be sorted by then.
Not fixed in last nights update though.
As far as the previous posters comment about spelling I assume English isn't your first language (you might prove me wrong). We should remember there are people from non-native English speaking countries on t'internet.
Everyone write a support ticket to Anet about the problem with Venta Cemetary and the Avatar.
They have made absolutely 0 mention so they probably aren't thinking it's a high priority issue yet.

I thought i'd bump this thread because i thought its an issue that is going to have alot of people wondering how to get the Avatar of Lyssa skill. Im writing this the day after completing Ventas Cemetary mission, and to say im dissapointed is an understatement. :(
I think if your going to give people such a small window of opportunity to capture a skill, let alone an elite god form, there should be some warning that its not going to be there afterwards, even if we party with someone who hasnt done the mission.
Im going to take Dracil's advice and write to support. And i hope that by bumping this thread more people will see this and agree that its something that Anet should be fixing. Add somewhere else towards the end of the game that we can cap it,.. move it to an area that wont be affected after a mission, something that allows us to collect the 5 avatars without having to recreate our characters. This is really seeming like the only option for people who feel strongly about capping all 5 avatars and have already completed Ventas Cemetary mission.

Yes, it still does'nt spawn even if you go in with a character that has'nt done the mission yet. :( This makes getting the max skill hunter impossible if you decide to get it later(or did'nt know it was there)

It doesn't spawn once you do the Cemetary mission, simple as that. If someone banged through the missions without bothering with a lot of capping, they will end up missing it.
i just bought 15k endgame armour for my dervish so there's no chance i'm remaking to cap a skill...
they will fix it, as there is no reason for there to be bosses that disappear halfway through the game - what about people going after skill hunter titles, and go around capping skills after they finished the game? It's just totally illogical for them to keep things the way they are.
As Dracil suggested, I'm off to write a support ticket.

I saw Acolyte of Lyssa in the middle of Sunward Marches - The boss spawned in a fortress surrounded by Kournan mobs. I mean, I capped Avatar of Melandru from a boss called Acolyte of Melandru in Marga Coast... What are the odds? :rolleyes:
EDIT : Confirmed. Just capped it.
Most people who are missing it right now are these who actually got past beginning of the game before all guides started to form on wikis. I bet most of these who have the skill right now wouldn't have it if someone didn't tell them about it or they read about it.

I got the same prob. the sad feeling is that I read the post in guildwiki after I completed the Venta Cemetary mission.
I had send a bug report to support @ plaync. (Hope this is the right place)

Ive checked guild Wiki and it says it could be here, but when I read this thread this skill can only be capped when u havnt done a certain mission. I think I have done that mission cause I find an empty fort as well.
I think A'net havnt found this bug yet or it's on the 'to do list'. I can't believe I have to restart my char to get this skill which I absolutely wont do.
First of all, i'd like to thank you all for notifying people on the board about this problem, so i capped Lyssa as soon as possible (way before Cemetary Mission).

I'm going to take this guy's advice, I didn't know about the spawn problem until after I already beat that mission and was well into the game. I beat the game and have that 15k endgame armor and there is no way I'm deleting my character and remaking her! I think they should either have the boss spawn again, or give a special quest so that people who already beat that mission can do the quest and at the end, the boss spawns and you can cap it from him/her.

Factions had this issue as well, and all spawns were eventually fixed.
Assassin's Promise wasn't even in the game for a while. Way of the Empty Palm couldn't be capped if you did The Halcyon Job first, but at least for that you could tag along somebody else that had it. Ferocious Strike was also not spawning...
so have patience I'm sure they'll fix Avatar of Lyssa or make a second boss with that skill somewhere.

yup confirmed it's been fixed with today's patch...finally completed my set avatar skills...don't really need it...but I got it to complete the set.
