I don't play a necro myself, but, sort of do thru my hero necros. I've found them to be the most fun to mess with for making different builds from everyday cookie cutter 16points into one thing type builds.

My favorite build is the MM/SSer and using N/E classes
Blood 2
Death 15
Curses 13
Soul Reaping 6

Spiteful Spirit
Insidious Parasite
Death Nova (heroes are excellent for using death nova much better than I ever could they always get a blast of 100dmg plus 14 seconds of poison out of their minions)
Summon Bone Horrors
Summon Vampiric Horrors
Barbs
Dark Bond (this is pretty much like the bonding monk and I find it better energy efficient than using Taste of Death and the hero necros won't use Taste of Death like a player would trying to chain bomb his pets off one after the other lol.)
Glyph of Lesser Energy

This has been one of my greatest hero builds. 99% of the time if there is a wipe ole Whispers or Olias are the ones left standing. Too bad I can't make them N/Mo's lol

I use 2 major runes one in the cap death for +3 death to get to 15 and 1 in the hands for +2 curses. You can change this to a 14/14 build and it works just as well with a bit more power to curses than death, but, I like those 100pt death nova bombs and 14 seconds of poison afterwards. I don't use any botm or try to keep their minions alive for the simple fact in pve there's plenty of mobs/npc's to recreate new minions after the old ones blow up. Whispers or Olias are hardly ever with less than 5 minions after every battle is over. Granted in places where necros can get minons, of course there are some spots like Torment where minon necros are pretty useless. That's where Olias comes into play as a curse/domination necro and uses pretty much the same curses adding empathy and then a couple of interupts and weaken armor and uses channeling instead of gole.

Give it a try you'll find you like it I think.

I like it...too bad Hero's don't use SS a bit more though...

I was messing around the other day doing the quests in the fire islands and could not a get group together so...I put good ol' Master on SS then set up the rest with henchies and heroes (as most of the game nowadays, lol).
For the first time ever I left his skill bar viewable and kept using it as if it was mine ( I was tanking). Wow what a satisfying experience!! He did exactly what he was asked and we did 3 quests with lots of ease.
I guess my point try to have even more fun with Heroes by using their skill bars.

Umm I use the Necro MM and the Necro barbs-based curse necro together, but not on the same skillbar!

The soul reaping nerf is funny. I now need to manufacture deaths to play pve where before I could count on getting energy from actually killing stuff. I actually am forced to play the "gain energy from allied miions and spirits" that the nerf was supposed to stop. Because energy from mobs now sucks (especially SS which like much curse damage over time kills aoe mobs at a constant rate, I find myself required to take a minionmaster to even keep my energy at some reasonable state).

Elites I'll use on the curse necro include the usual SS, and/or exotic choices like order of undeath, or Xinrae's weapon (for hard mode luring purposes, it gives you about 12 seconds of no searing flames spam). but teh key skill is barbs. barbs the taget and watch it die.

Anyways I see your build having energy issues, and the offense and defense stats from minions are poor unless you can include fiends. Finally, if your using this on a hero, the hero cursing AI is poor when it come to putting the right curse on the right target. But, if you insist on using this build on a hero, tasteof pain might be worth taking a look at. Its a great selfheal and the AI necro doesnt have the same issues with targeting that a human does.
