I have played quite a few necs through factions and prophs but recently started one in nightfall im in the ruins of saljahai and doing the quest Deals a Deal.
Lvl20 armour and avatar standard MM build with the addition of signet of lost souls.
What im looking for is an original build to finish the rest of the game on:afro:
anything but a SS SV or MM build
over to you:wink:

Hmm, you could try N/D, with Aura of the Lich, Dark Aura, Touch of Agony and Mystic Regenation for Dark Aura bomber...
Or a blood-magic build? VS - aoe life steal bomb?

Icy Veins is a barrel of monkeys... mix that with some corpse exploitation (Well of the Profane, Putrid Explosion), and see if you can get a nice chain reaction going.

Try combining high SR with skills from other professions, I've played a fire nuker that way (before the nerf though...) and it worked pretty well, even finished jennur's horde with it on masters. I think N/Rt has some potential as well but haven't gotten around to trying that yet.
If you want to keep it a bit more necro though, you can try a Vampiric Spirit build (http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453152) (worked pretty well in old ascalon HM) or, as Catharsis said, try some builds using Icy Veins. My favorite with that atm is Icy veins+rising bile combined with death magic damage spells, you could use malign intervention and turn your enemy minion into a bomb with icy veins and rising bile, and if you're good at targetting add in vereta's gaze and death nova for an even bigger boom :)

Heck if your bored just play with H - H and grab a weapon  I understand how things can get stale, main reason why my Sin is a critical scytchesman atm. Icy Viens + Putrid Explosion is what my Necro hero runs sometimes.
You can do a orders - wells - with a weapon or a curse necro with sword as well. Just for kicks of course ~ all about fun in the end.......then once you get to the end cookie cutter f t w
Awaken the Blood
Unholy Feast
Suffering
Oppressive Gaze
Enfeebling Blood
Arcane Echo
Auspicious Incantation
Forgot attribute, but slow, big DAMAGE PENETRATING (useful in high level area where spells get reduced by like, half damage.) AoE damage.

Umm.. FoC is always fun, Something like'
N/R OR N/Me
Feast of Curroption
Serpent's Quickness/Arcane Echo
Pasrastic Bond
Suffering
Then just fill in the rest with a generic curse build.

healer's boon n/mo or icy veins+sorrow n/rt healer would give you a completely new playstyle.

You wouldn't mind giving us a basic build would you please? /Mo and /Rt are something i have very limited experience with.

N/Mo is very simple, just get healer's boon, a bunch of healing spells, SolS and max soul reaping to supply energy. I'd like to know what an Icy veins+sorrow N/Rt healer is though :)
here's an example of a healer's boon necro (http://gwshack.us/c848)

Reaper's Mark + Anything.
You'll never run out of energy. So I guess use energy-intensive (well they wont be with RM) things like... the whole Blood attribute. Or use RM in conjunction with expensive but awesome curse skills.

just go soul reaping+healing or soul reaping+restoration and pack up on healing skills of choice, in the case of n/rt you'll also want a couple of spirits to get the most out the resto skills available. The n/rt is capable of a little offensive impact when you can afford to take a break from healing, using 1-2 of reaper's mark, signet of sorrow, icy veins, or can do both simultaneously if you choose to go weapon of remedy+vengeful weapon fuelled by your soul reaping. The n/mo you really want healer's boon, it would be criminal not to take it if you want to try your hand at monking with a necro primary thanks to the passive energy management and slow cast times, while a primary monk surpasses a primary necro by a greater degree if toying with prot.
I was going to just list from some of the better skills to choose from but found I'd picked 8.
Words of comfort, heal other, ethereal light, vigorous spirit, heal party, dwayna's kiss, healer's boon, rebirth/ressurect chant.
More to choose from with ritualist resto skills, basically every single one is perfectly acceptable just bring 1-2 spirits (life, recovery), with the possibly to go for a soul reaping elite or restoration elite - anything except preservation is good.

if it's an original build shouldn't you originate it?
