Guild Wars 2 will be coming out soon. Will it feature famous creatures such as the Titans, Mursaat and many more that made Guild Wars famous? It may be.
My proposal is to re-introduce the Mursaat rally for Guild Wars 2. But this time, it won't just be for Mursaat. It will be for Titans, Charr, Eter Seals, Shiro'ken and many more creatures. I will post more info on this hopeful event later to the relase time of GW 2. I hope you like my idea and come and join in.
Stay posted!
GW2's current info pretty much lacks too much info on that department. It's too early to start a rally.
Also note that we dealt with the leftover Shiro'ken and we also closed down the Foundry which created the Titans (And killed them as well).

Charr are already confirmed to be in GW2, seeing as they'll be a playable race.

I think you should keep the Mursaat Rally to an annual event and hold it on the same day each year--April 14th.

I'd make it "swing" a bit so it's on a Saturday around that time. Having it mid-week will probably be a problem for some people.

Yeah, like Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. I agree.
I just think it should be a yearly only event, if you do it too often, it diminishes the message and the point. Just like if Mog had his Mescon every week instead of on St. Patties day.

Hi guys I've read all your comments.
I am going to try to get it on during April on a weekend so your in luck. As most of the races that i mentioned above are dieing out, I wanted to see the remnants of those races defeated in GW2.
In 2009, i will also release the Mursaat rally again even if no new campaigns are coming out.
This years will be held in exaclty the same place. Remember, tell all your friends to come to make it special. Also, if Gaile Gray could come that would be good.
Sir Jack

Uhm, no offense, but why the hell should you be the one to organise it?
I mean, it basically started as Quintus' idea, who also organised it last year and got the whole promotion going on. If anything, Quintus should be the one organising it, or if he can't, the current mod of the Lore forum <.<
The original rally also wasn't about defeating the dying out races, it was about not simply scrapping races out of the Lore, since we had little to no info about the Mursaat during that time, and it looked as if the Asura were about to run with a lot of things credited to the Mursaat, basically a rally to keep the Mursaat alive.
If they really want possession of organising and so on, I am more than happy to let them do it and will support them (within reason - they have to take input from the Lore community)- there's room for more than one person for a rally - if Quintus is interested, I am sure he and Freebie can collaborate. I personally do not want to organize public events. I already do a weekly get together for Fanfic people and that is possibly too much attention for me (I'm pretty shy outside of game). Keep in mind that lots of people were involved in last year's rally - for spreading the hype and doing some poster artwork etc.
And Jack is right - I'm more interested in what part our favorite races will play in GW2 rather than getting them extinct. Though we had a few mursaat questions answered, I want MORE!

Right guys.
Sir Jack, I have messaged Quintus and told him of the event. I am waiting for a reply. Thank you for your other thoughts, I have taken your thoughts into action.
Kalidri, I agree with your ideas about running the event. If Quintus wants to help or run it himself, I will let him as he was the one to start it. If anyone else wants to help or support the Mursaat rally 2 please feel free to leave a comment.
Everyone, thank you for your comments, I will answer any new ones as soon as possible. I hope you will join me or Quintus in rallying the Mursaat again.

I'd be happy to help out in whatever way I can, although that probably ends at spreading the word and coming myself as I'm neither rich nor famous :P

Sorry guys, but I'm actually busy on the day of the event. Unless Quintus or anoyone else can take responsibility for it it will have to be cancelled.

Take a look here.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mursaat_Rally
The Mursaat are a quite interesting bunch, I might say.
I would be most glad to participate in such event.
And I love the fact it will be on a Monday,
a perfect day to worship the unseen without their consent.
I'm willing to help organizing such celebration
or create a poem that describes them epically!
One I could recite to seal their invocation.
So, who is with me to participate in this rally?
Yes we do need to get this rolling. I will have a word with Gmr and see if we can also pique Quintus' interest as he occasionally lurks here. I would also like to see if perhaps we can get a poster contest going in the fan art forum?
Ideas? Thumbs up or down?

I would say we should organize it in the last place of Mursaat activity. That would be in the Tarnish Heavened, near the Alcazia Tangle.
That or in the Asuran Capital Rata Sum.
Or for nostalgia purposes, in the same spot of last years celebration, Maguma Stade.
Either three are fine choices. We could have preachers comming to spread the word of the Unseen. Maybe a color theme for armors to match the white mantles. Maybe giving out drinks and sweets.
The possibilities are limitless.

Thumb Up ;)
Then i need White dyes :P

I think, rather than for nostalgic purposes, it should remain in Maguuma Stade. Mainly because Prophecies has been out the longest and it is more than likely most people would own it. Therefore, a larger turnout.
Thaerdon
08-02-2008, 21:54
Well Gmr Leon. Since this forums are the main vehicle for this event, rather than a one-man decision we should solve this with democracy by appealing the community. Ask them where they want it to happen.
In this days of age, players usually skip parts of the Prophecies campaign thanks to running services and its low level/exp-per-hour capita. And because of that, most the players that own Prophecies are likely to not even have been in Maguma Stade before.
Off course we want as many attendees possible so we could provide running services if needed.

I'm not certain if you were playing the game when this event happened last year, but the event had a very large turnout even being in such a remote place. Although this was in part due to the fact that we had a definite place planned for quite awhile before it occurred.
Thaerdon
08-02-2008, 23:31
I see your point.
Very well, Maguma Stade it is then. I went there personally today and I've seen why the last year's organizer chosed it. It's big enough to held a big group of players and as a bonus it contains a theather-like constrution that was used for the main speach in the past.
In other words. It's perfect!
Gmr Leon

*cough* I actually happened to point that out to Quintus during the planning of the event. I chose it for all of those reasons, actually. Plus it's close proximity to the Ullen River.

Great minds think alike as they used to say.
I'm thinking on getting my water color painting set to make a nice medium size poster for the event. It will say something like this:
"Bow to your Unseen Masters!"
Or better yet:
"Touched by their Spectral Agonizing Appendages."
Hmm... That last thought gaved me an ideia:
"Mursaatarians, the church of the Unseen."
Hmm... That last thought gaved me an ideia:
"Mursaatarians, the church of the Unseen."
Ummm.... isn't the Church of the Mursaat already called the White Mantle?
Thaerdon
09-02-2008, 12:35
Well... The White Mantle are much of a religion as their real life counterparts were: the Knights Templar.
The last line I quoted was infact a pun to Pastafarians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastafarian).
Just replace the squiggly monster by a Mursaat and we have ourselfs a poster.

Oh, I hope the Mursaat Rally happens again. I just had the perfect idea for a mini comic episode for it. Now, don't fail me.
Yeah, like Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. I agree.

Agreed but also agreed with Jack on that it should be weekends.

Well, the 14th of April was the second saturday of the month last year, so if we keep it to the second saturday, that'd make it the 12th of April this year

Was the ideal armour colour ever decided? I want gold, but I'm getting mustard to be honest.
Also, Mursaat weapons for the win - perhaps making a point about 'preserving' them in the HoM is in order.
I'm looking forward to the anniversary because let's face it, one little quest chain didn't answer much - Saul's Story was nice, but darn the 'evil Mursaat' propaganda! Darn it to heck!
I'll have to think up some ideas for posters...
Thaerdon

Mursaat are evil.
They always have been, they always will be.
Last year, the Mursaat whiped out all the party goers in Maguma Stade. If that wasn't a hint that they are evil, then I don't know what it is.
But even so, we are making this celebration happen. Because no matter how evil they are, they proved their worth in Guild Wars lore because they are a living Paradox. They are beyond good and evil for all the right reasons.
And that's why we love the mursaat.
ShadowReapr
10-02-2008, 22:16
They were testing our faith, damnit! :P
Yeah, it's the transcendance of personal good and evil that makes them that damn good (akin to Glint in that way), but they've always risked becoming black-and-white enemies. Or just extinct. In either scenario, it's a tragic waste of one of the most fascinating aspects of the lore.

April is soon
to bad maguuma state is an outpost and we cant use Summon Mursaat there:laugh:
they have divine ghostly powers, they are worshipped, they look amazing, sounds like gods, they are only not immortal, but the norse gods where not immortal either but still called gods.
The last line I quoted was infact a pun to Pastafarians.
Just replace the squiggly monster by a Mursaat and we have ourselfs a poster.
make the guy lay on a cloud like in the Bruce Almighty poster, makes it maybe more divine:cloud9: :innocent:
Mursaat are evil.
Evil is subjective.
So if you see them as such then they are without a doubt evil. But they had their reasons for dispatching those both blessed by their power and presence.

I Wish we just could chose our path more, i wanted to stay with the white mantle, i wanted to Let abbadon live and become his general ..
Or a soldier of Abbadon.
And cant we do the rally in Tarhnist haven, the last Known place where a mursaat was..

Keeping it to second Saturday of April and in same outpost - Magumma Stade
Those are good ideas.

Looks like someone by the IP of 74.75.48.194 thought it'd be funny to do such a thing.
And he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those pesky double-letters (and the absence of a source).
Yea, checked the history of it and it's just a guy playing a prank =/
What an oddball.

Hehehe... Don't strain your luck, Barinthus.
I might get upset and use your Spirit as Binding Ritual Fodder.
Or better yet, for Bloodstone Fodder.
There are Soul Batteries to be recharged
and no chosens willing to be sacrificed.
Unseen but not Unheard. All hail the Mursaat!
