well i have previous experience with ele's i started leveling an ele a few years ago, and i loved it but i quit playing guild wars for a long time (long story)
ANYWAY, getting to the point
i want to make an ele, and i want to be strong in PvE, PvP would be nice also but mainly PvE
EXCEPT I DONT WANT FIRE
im tired of fire, and everyone that plays PvE is a freaking fire ele
i want to be different
have any good builds based mostly on core and proph (can be others though too)?

[blinding surge]
[blinding surge (pve)]
I think this is what he's referring to.
You may remember it from the other thread where you posted the difference between the PvE and PvP versions.

ahhhh
correct
i see, well that might not be a bad idea actually considering [blinding surge (pve)] attacks and blinds them.
But what to put with it?
and any other ideas as well?

You should give earth nuking (http://guildwars.incgamers.com/showthread.php?t=476047&highlight=Earth+nuking) a try

So you have access to Core & Prophecies skills only?
I'd say go Water:
[[Rust] slows Signets and does damage
[[Blurred Vision] makes physical attackers miss 50% of the time
[[Maelstrom] kills stupid caster mobs in PvE pretty fast
[[Ward Against Harm] shelters your henchies (as you don't have Heroes in Prophecies)
Use [[Water Attunement] and [[Aura Of Restoration] for E-management & self heal, add a rezz and a damager like [[Ice Spear] and you have a nice utility build.

ok few questions, would this still be a decent build AFTER i get factions, night fall, etc?
(if not i can always tweak it)
Mainly im concerned that if i get this build can i configure a RAnger secondary into there to make it decent?
and last but not least, are these available in pre-searing? or post?
thanks :D

[[Aura of resto] is available in Pre-searing, otherwise you are looking at skills that you will only encounter quite a ways on in Prophecies, unless you already have them unlocked on your account from another character or PvP play.
Once you add other campaigns, you certainly will be able to tweak your builds. Notice the plural on builds. This game is not about finding the one build that will get you through the game. It's about finding the build that works right now and changing it when it doesn't work any more. Each area of each campaign presents itself in different ways with different strategies required. Different strategies, different builds...

Presearing: Fire....you have to use it, because there are no good spells from other lines for you.
Ascalon to Kryta: You can slowly aquire Earth, Water & Air spells on the way and change your build.
The probelem is, that you get Fire skills faster than any other line, so many Prophecies players stick with Fire.
You can try to unlock skills with Balthazar faction and buy them at the skilltrainers, but I have no idea on which skill will be availble.
You can also cap normal skills from boss monsters with a Signet of Capture (if you have enough money & skillpoints) e.g. Kinetic Armour from the duel dwarf outside Yaks Bend (in a quest) or Mark of Rodgort from the Imp boss in Talmark Wilderness. This way you can learn skills much earlier, but you "lose" them as quest rewards later.
PS: See other post for a Beastmaster alternative
