Introducing the New Siege Warband - Under the ranks of Masked Warband.

The Masked Warband is an esteemed Warband under the Ranks of the Iron Legion Led by Centurion Jelek Masked.

Masked: The Surname for the Warband because the Warband is family.

The Iron Legion: The most technologically skilled of the charr legions and provides the machines, weaponry and strong leadership required to keep the potentially explosive alliance between the legions from tearing itself to pieces.

The Charr: It's said that the Charr are a warlike race but this is only partly accurate. More precisely, they are a warrior race, as all Charr serve the legions in some way, if not as soldiers, then as logistical support for soldiers, providing weapons, transport, food and whatever else the legions may need. There are still Charr merchants, explorers, and even charr scholars, but whatever their vocation, all Charr are soldiers at heart, and they tackle life's challenges with a soldier's discipline and focus. That's not to say the Charr don't enjoy life's simple pleasures, or the occasional luxury, but like all well disciplined soldiers, they never lose sight of the larger mission.

The Masked Warband was assigned to an outpost that covered the Dragon Brand, Created by the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik, to defend the Charr lands from Kralkatorrik's minions that spawned forth. Through the cunning tactics and the will to fight side by side for blood and honor The Masked Warband held the minions at bay each day.
But since the Charr are embroiled in internal dissension, external threats and now confronted by the power of an Elder Dragon, they have chosen to negotiate with humans rather than battle them too. The negotiations have resulted in a tentative truce between their peoples, with humans now permitted inside the Black Citadel itself.

The Masked Warband, with their acheivments in battle and expertise, were offered up in part of the truce to create a tie between races and include them into the warband itself. They were brought into the Faction of The Vigil and other races were assigned to their Warband. Even though the other races are now involved in the warband, the Charr are still assigned to the Masked Warband after their Fahrar via tradition, and it is known that sometimes the Charr are shown favor over the other races.(IC Fact, does not effect OOC)

Who Are The Vigil: They are a group made up of members from many races, nations and guilds. They are dedicated to resisting the depredations of the Elder Dragons by force of arms.

And so begins the battle, with the many Races now filling the ranks of the Warband they are a force to be reckoned with.
This Is Our Story.

About Us:

OOC Information: Masked Warband was created for the sake of letting players experienced and unexperienced to join a guild that was accepting to them. My vision is to create a guild that is not only a fun place for players to enjoy the game. But also an organized and structured environment. I label us as RP/WvW for the simple fact that WvW will provide an excellent source for a command chain that will allow Masked Warband to grow into a strong and dedicated guild that other guilds will look at and say. "Wow, those guys are awesome."
So as much as you may think otherwise, Masked Warband is definatly the place for you to come and join up. See you on the battlefield.

Guidelines and Rules:

1.) This is not a racial specific guild but it is known that sometimes Charr are given favor over other races due to their Ties to the Warband. (RP Fact Only, OOCly things are run fairly)

1.5) Must Use Voice Server.
-We will be using tactics and coordination while inside of WvW content and you will be required to be inside of our Voice server. (You do not have to talk, but you must be present to listen) Some Exceptions may apply.

2.) You must be 18+ or conduct yourself with maturity.

-While I know, especially with Voice Chat (Which is required, don't have to talk, but must be inside and listening) That some curses, lude jokes, etc. come out every once and a while and everyone laughs. And you must be accepting of this.
(Some Exceptions may apply for younger of age, please Pm for questions)

3.) You must be interested in role-play, or simply an understanding and respect towards those that do roleplay.

-We will be a Light/Medium Roleplay guild but will have heavy focus for WvW content with keying toward tactics and a militaristic chain of command. You don't have to be a big RPer but you must respect those that are.

4.) You must be active on our website.

I realize that GW2 isn't out yet, but with Beta coming up soon, and hopefully release just a few months away participation will be required.
.
5.) You must represent the Guild with Honor and Integrity.

Don't ever Grief players, respect the chain of command, I expect everyone to be Mature Adults and to just have fun and enjoy this awesome game.

With the end of the first BWE yesterday I felt happy and sad all in one moment. Beta weekend was a great time for us to not only gain many great and New members, but a chance to play the game that we've been waiting for. A few of our great acheivments that we accomplished.
- Stealing Blues Orb - Twice
-Capturing Multiple Keeps, Towers, and Supply camps.
-Claiming Etheron Hills Keep for Masked Warband (Saturday)
--Upgrading Said keep to Waypoint capabilities. (Saturday)
-Holding off multiple waves of Blue players at 20+ capacity with only 10 of our members. Even stopping a Siege Golem..(Saturday)
-Gaining the guild a Guild emblem and watching it fly happily on our Keep Banners.
-Capturing and Holding Dreaming Bay (Sunday)
-Defending said keep from Multiple Waves of 20+ Greens.
-Upgrading the Keep to Full capacity, complete everything unlocked.
-Capturing an Orb and placing it inside our keep.
-Attacking a heavily defended Tower and taking down the side wall instead of the front gate and wiping them.
-Doing Multiple Hidden Jump puzzles as a guild and laughin while we did it.
-Gaining Commander Status for Jelek and Watching Hordes of Zergs Follow him around to kill things.
-Simply being a powerful presense inside the WvW Realm and while being outnumbered on multiple occasions because we were organized we actually routed multiple Zerg groups that came against us in Open Field Combat.

I have a huge sense of pride towards this guild and what its accomplished this weekend. Allowing us to gain a huge amount of knowledge that we will be able to bring against the enemy next beta and finally release. All our members performed amazingly and I'm glad you all enjoyed it. And Remeber I live streamed all this weekend so tons of footage on the livestream inside our media section on the website. Even the final event against the Moas that some may have missed.

Time for an update from our prestigous New Officer Wookums. Also a new post about the latest BWE #2 experience.

Before I begin, let me introduce myself. My name is Wookums and I am the newly appointed “chief of arms” (ie human resources) of Masked Warband [MW]. I have served as an officer and guild leader in the past and am excited to be able help MW grow into the tremendous force of a community that I know it will be.

Notice above that I wrote community and not guild. We are more than just a guild! During the first beta weekend and the stress test we did all the normal guild things such as sieging keeps and helping each other complete jumping puzzles, but when the servers shut off that is not the end for us. Every night you can find us on mumble hanging out and chances are some – if not all of us – are playing a game together.

Now is the perfect time to join and help shape our community. After the first BWE our numbers swelled, and surely after the next beta we will have another huge influx of new blood. If you are looking for a guild you can advance in, look no further! Since the first BWE we've seen two members promoted based on their proven leadership ability on the WvW field. The way we are structured, every group of 5 will have a leader so there will be many opportunities for promotion as we grow.

We intend to be a WvW powerhouse on our server. We are officially a light/medium RP guild, but if RP is not your cup of tea that's OK. It's not a requirement to join but we do ask that you be respectful to those who do RP. Many who joined during the BWE are not RPers... yet

In summery:
GW2 focused, but in the mean time join us on mumble and play some other games with us.
Opportunity for advancement for those who wish to lead
No RP experience? No problem!
Not into RP? That’s OK! Please be respectful of those who are though.

Now from Jelek:

Another Beta Weekend has gone by and I know that most are more then happy by how the weekend went. The first day of the beta weekend was by far my favorite day for the simple fact that the WvW content was challenging and the other servers we faced actually put up a good fight. The guild itself worked together as we always have in a coordination and dedicated force towards dominating the other servers. Though to my surprise the rest of the server did the same, a complete switch around from the previous beta weekend.
Since the other two days of Beta we were placed against low pop servers who didn't put up any kind of a fight the guild began the thorough search and destroy of the PvE area. We ran around as a giant warband filling multiple groups and doing any event we could come across, destroying multiple large bosses, and even getting a few of the local players to continually ask, "Who the Hell is that large blue icon labeled Jelek and why is he on my map?!" Which gave us a few laughs as I continually explained the premise that I was a WvW commander over and over again.

I think one of the greater parts of this weekend was the large amount of members we gained as a whole, finally capping out the mumble server capacity which I though was funny and I'm sure any of the members can attest that once they joined the server they had a blast.

So as a final saying, thank you Masked Warband Members, for providing me a great weekend, for without you none of my goals could ever be met, none of my plans could be acheived, and simply put, it would be a lot less fun without all of you providing your different personalities and voices to make us a very versatile and fun group.
For anyone else reading this and thinking, "Man they sound like fun." We are and we are always looking for more fun people to join us, head over to the site maskedwarband.enjin.com and take a look.

Till next time, see you all on the battlefield.

Hey guys, just a couple things before I get to the meat of this update. I'd like to shout out to all the guildies as they have made Masked Warband an awesome and enjoyable guild and I'm glad to be apart of it.

Radnirok, one of the many soldiers inside the warband has gotten us some Beta keys to give away. We will be giving "One" away every day till friday where we will give multiple away.

How will you get these keys you ask? Each day at 6 PM Pacific time I will present a question on our Twitter Feed. All you have to do is Follow us, and answer the question.

@MaskedWarband

One Hour After, at 7 PM Pacific Time, I will Pick a winner from those that answered the question and simply send them the key. Thats it, real simple.

If we get enough with interest I'll start producing more keys each day for winners. So tell your friends.

See You On The Battlefield.

As we are gearing up for GW2's Release I've broken the guild into another warband, they will still remain under the Masked Warband Guild but it will allow me to keep better along with lore while allowing my members to remain in one area.

Siege Warband is the new group and will be headed by our esteemed Legionaire(CoA) Wookums.
Congratulations to her.

Nothing much else to report, but I forsee a lot of bright things in the future for us as a guild.
See You On The Battlefield.
