So you’ve had a look through our site (particularly those links above) and are wondering, “In a nutshell, what exactly are these people looking for in a potential member?”

Here’s a checklist:

-- You’re 21+ years of age. (Although you might actually be a lot older and that would be fine; we have numerous ‘older gamers’ in the guild.)

-- You’re the kind of person that other people really like being around, ie: you’re pleasant, mature, considerate, friendly, smart and can hold a great conversation without dropping the f-bomb even once.

-- You have a desire to drop past your guild forum and not only ‘talk shop’ (such as organising a dungeon crawl), but start actual conversations about topics outside the game like films or music.

-- You have a genuine interest in Guild Wars 2, ie: you’ve ideally played the game in beta and are happy with it. You certainly aren’t thinking, “Well, this will be a nice game to tide me over for a little while…”

Why do we ask for these attributes? Because they describe us. This is the kind of person we are, and we’d simply like to meet more people like us.

--

And for those who are still reading, a little background on why I'm doing this:

Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, MMORPG guilds used to be groups of good friends who genuinely enjoyed each others company and played their chosen MMORPG as a regular social activity similar to the pen and paper RPGs that preceded them. Maybe you even remember those times?

Somewhere along the line, however, the guild concept became corrupted. Less emphasis was placed on real friendships being developed between members and, sadly, people began to be known more by what level their characters were, and what they could do in the short term for other members of the guild, rather than by who the real people behind the characters were.

I have made a deliberate attempt in recent times to wind the clock back to the days when guilds, and more importantly the people inside those guilds, mattered. If this sounds interesting to you, and you want to step back to a time when your guild felt like an extension of your family, and not some kind of factory job, you’re welcome to explore this site and apply to join us.

Whilst it's still fresh I'm going to pop in with a 'Nice name!' comment as I understand the etymology of it.

So; Nice name!

We're now < 20 slots away from filling our member roster.

Do you want in? Applying sooner, rather than later, is HIGHLY recommended.
