OMG yes. Especially in the desert, the hydra bosses have these ridiculous long patrols so you're bound to miss them. Perdition Rock should be fun then, eh? (I'm saving it for last as it's so different, so that makes it epic or whatever)

I did Eastern Frontier with a six man group, and I don't think I would've been able to handle it with four. :D I'm looking forward to Mineral Springs because it's sooo pretty! I'll keep Tasca's Demise in mind though. I seem to recall there being group on top of group :D

    Goddamn Hydra.

When I first did Tyria it was with a friend, and it seemed that in every zone, the last few mobs were always Hydra. We'd run head-first into them being speed boosted, and forget our heroes were miles behind. So yeah. Hydra-wipe.

"Oh look, Hydra." became a long-standing joke that the last mob in every zone was then Hydra. Vanquishing in the Desert? Hydra. Vanquishing in Far Shiverpeaks? Hydra. Vanquishing in Torment (yeah we did this even though it didn't count. <_< )? Hydra.

Better not see Hydra in GW2 :|

The only zones I hated in Tyria was Eastern Frontier because I did it as a 4-man thing going back many many years before we had things like beefed up Spirits. But have done that since, and yeah, it wasn't so bad.

Tasca's Demise can be a bit of a snot too. But Mineral Springs is a glorious walk. Man, I love that zone. Just be careful with the ice imps and don't aggro all jillion of em at once. :D

Really though, Tyria doesn't have that many bad zones. Just far too many zones. Ugh.

I can only agree, great Kudos to the Guild Wars 1 live team!

    Congrats for the Guardian title.

I'd do some EotN NM first, then cartograph and skillcap a bit, then do some more EotN. Doing both NM and HM EotN is just too tedious, if done in short succession.

    Thanks Lytha. :)

For the 30 pts, Kinya? Since about...mid July I think? But I was already set with a couple things. For once, I had 500k in my storage chest which helped with armor, and I already had a few sets purchased. Plus weapons, and heroes. I didn't play for two, almost three years so every single character had a few minis sitting in their inventory, plus a few I had before that. And, my ele had four max titles, plus my monk had Legendary Survivor, so that added up too. Basically, I didn't start from scratch.

If you want to do some further testing, throw a whisper my way if you see me online. (@ Eloanneo Kirimaya) Sorry about today, I had to head out for groceries after I posted my comment. But I seem to recall reading somewhere that being a party leader vs. not doesn't make a difference. Which would really suck, but there you go.

For the moment, I am focusing my attention away from titles, and I will come back to them sometimes. (See my tl;dr rambling in my next entry. XD) Maybe I can finish it when Anet releases the rest of WoC XP

Well, we could try. You know what? I'm going online right now, check for Lytha Nefertari.

Hm,... you are right, perhaps. It might still depend on the who's party leader (the WoC infected player or a WoC-clean player), but I just ran some tests with Juliania and Baz, and indeed, you can't de-escalate the WoC problem with a party member who does not have touched WoC yet.

I would dare to say that Scavengers are nastier than the foes during the quest - or just leave this explorable until the stupid dev finally nerfed it into oblivion.

I heard that if anyone who has attempted the quest is in the party, it'll affect the spawns, except for Bukdey Byway, where Chasing Zenmai and the Drinkmaster Tahmu quests override it. But thanks for the offer, anyways. :)

If you want to attempt NORMAL Minister Cho HM with a team of 3, I'm willing to questmonkey for you. I only screwed up Factions on one of my characters yet, and I've got 19 more (of which not all have access to HM yet though.)

I don't feel much like vanquishing this areas right now though. That might change, depending on when we do it.

This is assuming that downscaling the monster spawns to the pre-WoC state is possible indeed.

Sir Jack, I did all of WoC without realizing what it would do to the monster spawns. I already completed Zen Daijun years ago, and Haiju Lagoon would be OK since I can at least expand my team to six people, but Minister Cho's...the quest itself was a nightmare in NM. I'll have to leave it for later. I could totally get a run for Bukdek Byway though. Thanks!

Lytha, I will definitely ditch the urn from now. XD Not worth it!

I never take any of the objects in Sunjiang, because the damage of the spear is not worth the energy issues, the need to loudly ping every target and the lack of the 40/40 set. Never had trouble to get the master's reward anyway.
  14. Sir Jack's Avatar
The WoC content doesn't affect the areas until you either take the quest or complete it. So if you haven't completed everything of it, it's still doable and even if you have, it's going to be Cho's Estate, Haiju Lagoon and Zen Daijun that will give you problems. Lots and lots of problems.
If it's just Buhdek Byway, get a run. Chasing Zenmai + Drunken Master means no kills clear the area.

@Boreas Seabed: yes, the Spear does that. It happens if too many things die within it's range and it reaches level 5, it auto-releases Archemorus and damages all.

@Sunjiang District: if H/H'ing, ALWAYS take the Spear. In fact, even if you have a human group, still only take the Spear. It charges from your dead minions and spirits very fast and even charges if you dropped it. The Urn doesn't do that well, it'll prevent damage but it takes too long to charge it and it won't charge if it's protecting you since you take 0 damage. You can easily get 7-8 shots off from the Spear and have it charged when you face the constructs, the Urn you'd be lucky to even get 1 shot off unless you run into damage all the time.

If you find a sucker, that hasn't started WoC yet, to tag along - you'll load pre-WoC foes.
That might help with some of the harder areas.
  16. Nikhera's Avatar
Oh noooo. XD What am I going to do? It was freaking hard in NM! I wiped several times on the first mob and restarted about four times. But when I did it in the last try it was smooth. Not sure if what I did will cut it for HM though. What's worse, the mobs during the quest, or the mobs that spawn after? (The Scavengers?)
  17. Lytha's Avatar
    Oh. That's a problem then.
  18. Nikhera's Avatar
See, that's the thing, Lytha - I just finished everything that there was in WoC XD Though not in HM. When I started, I didn't know it affected mobs. I figured when I finished the active quest it would go back to normal. And I'm not 100% sure which areas are affected and how. Like I said, Shadow's Passage had Jade Brotherhood with new skillbars. :<

I like the wand, too! It's cute! Not sure what it would look like on my ele though. I don't like the focus item, either. XD

Thanks Satenia. My monk likes to run around with a shield sometimes (Tengu Spear + Exalted Aegis - I love these skins!) so maybe I can get her that combo. My assassin wouldn't mind new daggers, wither. (I have like 25 Medals of Honor so a few more bounties and I guess another weapon should be doable :D)

Personally I like the "red glow" effect on the WiK weapons a lot on melee variants, I have the daggers on my assassin and they look nicely enough. Absolutely love the sword/shield, but the chars you listed are likely not suitable for these.

Haven't really bothered with any caster weapons...
  20. Lytha's Avatar
WiK weapons: I dislike the focus item; it's some stupid horn instrument. Norgu does not complain, but it just looks like rubbish.

The staff is vaguely nice, and so is the wand. I haven't seen the rest.

Unless you touch WoC, which you shouldn't, the Minister's Estate is just another explorable on the newbie island. Small groups of lowly HM leveled afflicted, some pathetic animals who like to Frenzy or something - no harm done. Just don't touch Winds of Change until you've vanquished newbie island and the entire rest of Cantha.
