  1. Remix' vs original songs

It's wintersday again, and I should be running charas through quests, and yet I'm avoiding logging in because of sleep issues, and I have the oddest thing pop into my head while going through stuff.

I have various music like all of you do, and much of it is alternative and trance among other things.
Something artists of this nature are wont to do is to take existing music, and remix it with new beats, maybe adjust the speeds on them, maybe only use a small sample and reuse ...

  2. Replaying: Arx Fatalis (summary & impressions)

So, I think the game was actually playable if set to win 95 compatibility + "disable visual themes" and with the 1.18 patch. With playable, I'm not referring to the gameplay, but to the technical issues. When this game crashes, then it crashes hard and with a brutal blue screen of death.

The technical stuff aside, I enjoyed myself a lot in this replay.

by , 24-01-2010 at 08:09 (THE place for cootie shots!)
Late Friday night the GuildWarsGuru database was accessed by an unknown third party. We caught it as it happened, but in that short space of time it appears they may have managed to obtain tables of user account information.

Their point of entry was a flaw in the WordPress software used to run the GuildWars2Guru.com front page. How they managed to get from there to the other databases is unknown right now, as it involved bypassing other security measures we have in place.

  5. Replaying: Deus Ex.

Blogging while replaying these old gems helps me to stay focussed. If you are starting to be upset that I dare to use this blog to talk about non-GW things, then just don't read it.

So, this will be about Deus Ex I. Even though I'm very much out of the loop, I think I want to play it in "realistic" (1 sniper shoots me = I'm dead), in non-lethal as long as I can force myself to be nice to greazels and MJ12 troopers, in no-confrontation at all as long as this doesn't ...
