Here is a list of minipets I do not have currently, any 6 of these will finish off the HoM for me. If you're looking to sell one, hit me up in PM and we can talk. I will try and keep this updated.

Shiro
Lich
Freezie
Nornbear
Black Beast
White Rabbit
Mad King Thorn
Abomination
Desert Griffon
Dredge Brute
Krait Neoss
Kveldulf
Quetzal Sly
Word of Madness
Jora
Nian*
Dagnar Stonepate
Flame Djinn*
Cobalt Scabara
Fire Drake
Ophil Nahualli
Scourge Manta
Seer
Siege Devourer
Candysmith Marley*
Oola
Ventari*
King Adelbern
Zhu Hanuku*
MOX

Pets marked with an * are pets I wouldn't mind owning anyway, since I like the models for them, but it is of no great importance, better to finish off the HoM either way.

Other than that, I just need to finish of Booze and Sweet points for GWAMM on my title hunter. I need roughly 2700 points of Alcohol and maybe 5100 sweet points. However, I would rather trade for these than outright buy them, but will consider small amounts for sale if the going is good. Hoping Wintersday can provide me with a small chunk of both.

I should make a sales post sometime soon. I simply have too many mods/weapons and other bits and bats than I can find room for... especially considering the fact I have far, FAR too much armor to store much at all on my characters themselves.

Anyhow... feels good to be nearly done. Bring on GW2!

So far I have left to do:
- Vanguard rank
- Lightbringer rank
- Skill Hunter (4 titles)
- Consumable titles (3 titles to do)

Which would take me to GWAMM. I'm also looking to get 50/50 on the HoM Calculator though, so here is what else I'm thinking of doing. (39/50 right now)

- Gladiator 3
- Hero 6 (apparently it's been lowered!?)
- Gamer 3 (this is such a far shot but I guess I could get into the Snowball matches at Wintersday. Really looking forward to Costume Brawl though.)

Other than that, I just have to fill up my hero and mini pet monuments, buy a piece or two of armour I didn't bother with before and buy more weapons. I don't feel rushed to finish this quickly.

I played some challenge missions for the first time ever the other day, to gain some armors, that was interesting I guess, although pretty easy. I just hate the Ranger Destroyer's in Glints. They're asshats.

Also, totally not going to buy weapons I don't actually want, so my weapons will fill slow. It doesn't help that I find most destroyer stuff kind of uninteresting. On the other hand, there's a couple of Tormented and Oppressor weapons... why must I have expensive taste?

For reference, list of needed minies: (22 More needed to fill HoM calculator points)

1. Prince Rurik g
2. Shiro gold

3. Aatxe w
4. Heket Warrior [got]
5. Juggernaut w
6. Mandragor Imp w
7. Elf p
8. Koss p
9. Lich g

10. Abyssal w
11. Cave Spider w
12. Cloudtouched simian w
13. Raptor w
14. Freezie p
15. Nornbear p
16. Ooze p
17. Black Beast g
18. White Rabbit g
19. Mad King Thorn gr

All Fourth Year, bar Flowstone Elemental
All Fifth Year.

This is mainly just me listing what I'm trying to finish in Guild Wars at the moment. I figured I should try to get something together to keep track of what I am doing and to see how fast I can actually get it done.

PvP:
Hero: Currently at Rank 4. Aiming for Rank 5 within the next month, though I am not sure if this will happen. Ultimate aim is Rank 6, after which I'll re-***** whether I can see myself getting Rank 9.

Gladiator: I've been really lazy, and not even been to RA for a while now, but I really ought to get myself to Gladiator 2 because I'm not that far off now - with a view to getting Gladiator 3 so I can at least put something in my HoM for all that effort/time.

Other:
-Try and figure out how you're supposed to make the transition from monking 4v4 situations to monking 8v8 situations. I just can't really imagine doing it. The idea is terrifying - but I like monking, and would love to be able to play prot in HA.
- Get better at weapon-swapping for every cast. Aka, stop being bad/lazy.

PvE:
Vanquishing: Nearly done with vanquishing Factions on my dervish. It's been overall pretty painless/easy, other than the occasional patrolling mob that takes 20 minutes to find (Melandru's Hope says 'hi'). I should get that polished off within the next week, I hope. I think I'll get to finishing Nightfall vanquishing after I'm done in Cantha.

Cartographer: Try to at least get 95% of Cantha mapped (currently at 88.7% or something like that) before I break down and resort to Texmod help. This has been going nicely with my vanquishing, but I still remember what a pain in the behind Elona was, and I am not looking forward to those last few points to reach 100%.

Protecter of Tyria: Yep, I still haven't done this. I loathe playing Prophecies missions these days, so I've just been avoiding the hell out of it (and yet, I've done a few HM missions there already). I think I maybe need 5 more missions there, but I just can't bring myself to do them unless there's someone else there to keep me company.

Misc:
Get my new assassin PvP ready: I need to conjure up a defense set from somewhere, as well some elemental daggers and some zealous daggers. Maybe a hammer too, so I can be super annoying while practising good weapon swapping.

Shinies and Mods: I need to get my hands on a q9 Command Draconic Aegis, and 5 enchanting staff wraps, so I can finish up stuff for my Ele (albeit one of the wrap is for something else), who is now officially as spoiled as my Warrior and my Monk. I wish I could get someone else to do this, Kamadan trade chat gives me a headache.

That's all I can think of for now. Hopefully I can tick some stuff off my list sooner that later, heh.

Wow, well. Okay. The past week or so, I've been getting incredibly frustrated with GW PvP. So, I figured I'd make a whiny blog post about it so I can vent and so you guys can have a good laugh.

For once, the frustration isn't stemming from the potential and perceived ineptitude of other players. But rather from my own failures.

Up until recently, I felt as if I was steadily improving - both in the playing of the classes which interest me, and in understanding the game more in depth. Only now, this steady seems to have tailed off and I've reached some kind of plateau. Possibly, I'm even regressing. Whatever I do, I can't seem to break away from this plateau, no matter what I do. I'm playing more, but my ability isn't improving.

I'm playing RA most of the time (trying to grind my way to some glad rank), do TA when people want me to TA with them, AB occasionally, and waste probably too much time analysing matches on Observer Mode. Given that I don't have any ranks to get me into more TA pugs or HA pugs, I'm not entirely sure what else I can in order to improve. I'm not asking for a miracle, I know I can be a slow learner - but feeling so 'stuck' and unable to move forward is starting to really irritate me. I adore the kind of PvP this game offers - the focus on execution and tactics is something that appeals to my nerdy self. Still, this stumbling-block feels almost too big to overcome.

Part of me wonders if I'm over-analysing and over-thinking things, and if that's causing me to 'lose it' simply by over-stressing and trying to keep in mind too many things at once, which then impedes on my ability to react correctly to the given situation in a timely manner.

Either way, the frustration continues to grow - am I forever destined to be a 'noob'?

Ideas, suggestion and derisive cries of 'lolscrub!' are all welcome.

- And as an aside, I watched a byob GvG match on Observer (I won't mention names for fear of showing myself up as some creepy fangirl) yesterday that left me all gobsmacked at how flawlessly every action was executed. Is it wrong to get this enthusiastic over watching other people play a computer game? Hmm, I probably don't want to know the answer to that...

Playing monk pretty much regularly in Alliance Battles since it became my new vice (though I'm looking to make RA my next vice, honest...moving up in the world etc), I've repeatedly been amazed at how much more aware I am of 'the game' from a position of support.

However, it's not all positive. Because, it's AB. And AB is nothing but a veritable plethora of scrubs and generic ****wads (just like me, the nub who thinks she can monk). Plus, 80% of the time, I PUG, so I get to see all kinds of interesting things.

So, I have compiled a short list of my top pet peeves that I have discovered since I started being your token wannabe.

1 : Assassins

I probably need not explain this, but for the sake of wasting your time, I will. I'll even break it down for you, because I've got some serious ranting to do here.

a) Shadowstepping:
It's oh-so-deliciously broken and I can understand why people use it, and there's no denying it's fun to go catch that solo-capper Elementalist with it. But for the love of all things holy, don't shadowstep into a mob when I haven't pre-protted you. Especially, don't shadowstep into the Elementalist Shrine without some kind of protection enchantment on you. By the time I get close enough to you to heal you, you're already dead. Seriously, how many times does this have to happen before people learn their lesson?

b) 'Ganking':
Please don't split and go try to 'own' something on your own unless you have a bar that can specifically do this. Don't come crying because you took a Way Of The Assassin bar and got rolled by a Warrior with half a braincell. Also, stop chasing that lone monk. It's not as if they can cap anything and if they are half decent they will simply laugh in your face.

c) 'Tanking'
gg Uninstall.

All that said, I have had the privilege of playing with one very, very good Assassin recently - a friend I made on my Deep runs. Not only does he run a bar that works deliciously well, but since he has some better PvP experience, he really knows how to make my job so much easier. He will kite to relieve pressure on my energy if I tell him I'm running low - he will deal with anything that is riding my *** quickly and efficiently, and most of all, he can kill stuff. And he can kill it quickly. With a good team, we can roll all over AB. It's damn fun. Sadly, he's back at University this week and cannot access GW from there. I am a very, very sad panda indeed.

2 : Bad Mesmers

Mesmers can be the bane of my humble existence, especially since I've a bad habit of forgetting to re-apply Veil. But if you keep casting Empathy (and not as a cover hex) on me, I not so humbly request you take a course in reading comprehension. Meanwhile, I will just ping you to my team mates while I run circles around you laughing my *** off.

3 : Leechers

GTFO of my AB. Haven't you heard? Jade Quarry is where it's at now.

4 : Defy Pain (and other assorted warrior badness)

Dear Warriors. I know you believe that 1773+ HP makes you so incredibly pro, but I recommend you ditch that **** and try some decent skills instead. Your lack of any real damage complicates my life more than it should, and as your humble and overworked healer, I request you think about my wellbeing instead of gloating about how long it took for someone with far too much patience to kill you.

I'm also slightly dismayed at how bad some of the enemy Warriors can be. There are plenty of times where I panic where any Warrior with half a braincell could have taken advantage of it. So many Bull Strike's I could have taken right in the kisser. So many Disrupting Chops that could have ended a skill because I forgot to switch to my protection staff and am camping my healing offhand and caster weapon. And yet they never happened. It sort of makes me sad because I love Warrior as a class, despite my being horrible at playing it. I also know - that if the enemy Warriors are like this, then so are the ones on my side. Worst of all, it makes me complacent - so when the rare decent warrior comes along, I get a bit of a nasty surprise. Such a surprise came today, when a bronze trim dude caught me off guard upon our second encounter and rolled me with frightening ease. Urgh.

5 : 100 Energy

Upon getting sick of being the mug who has baby the stream of nubtards that the bonus weekend has set upon us, I decided to go Elementalist for a few rounds. Upon doing this, I encountered a weird bug where even though I displayed 40 energy, I was told 'not enough energy' when using Searing Flames. Apparently, this is a lagbug thing, but I digress. I mentioned this to my team, and they asked me to ping my build, and then my energy.

Sure, I run a pretty high energy build, but I also run energy management and rarely drop under 20 or so energy, unless I screw up or lose my attunement. Anyway, the conversation went something like this.

"Why don't you have like 100 energy or something?"

"Uhm, because I don't need it?"

"Don't you run out of energy?"

"No, that's what Attunement and Glowing Gaze is for..."

"Yeah but 100 energy is like, awesome."

...

Have these people, all up with their fancy Voltaics and black dyed prestige armor, seriously never heard of energy management? More so, I am now aware of that countless AB 'nukers' who don't even think to bring any kind of glyph, Glowing Gaze (or other elemental line equivalent) or suitable Attunement. And if you ask them to ping their Health/Energy? Well, it makes my head spin, to be honest.

6 : Being too pussy to defend a Shrine

What's the point of capping a shrine, then letting an opposing team cap it right after? I can understand if you're outnumbered, but seriously? Might as well not capture it. Sit tight, deal with the other team (you have NPCs to help, even!), and let the free points roll in. Then move on, taking out any other roaming teams on the way. Capping in circles is so utterly pointless. Yet, if I even dare to point this out, I get a stream of abuse for it. Dammit, kills is where the fun, and win, is at!

7 : Bad builds

To the N/W using Healing Signet in the middle of a fight, the MM with no points in Soul Reaping, the R/E with Obsidian Flesh, and the D/W with Vow of Silence and a Sword build...I have nothing to say. Because there are simply no words. Sure, I was a nub too once, but never this badly. I think my Assassin friend best summed it up when he simply said 'Yuck'.

8 : The nubtrain

Should you ever be in AB on the Luxon side, and see someone piping up with 'CHOO CHOO, Here comes the Nubtrain!', rest assured, it's probably me. You may then notice the entirety of the Kurzick side chasing after me as I giggle my way merely back into a shrine (usually, because the rest of my team ran off, or something equally stupid).

I may also call my fellow Luxons a Nubtrain however - especially when they suddenly notice that my deliciously pwnworthy team is rolling pretty much everything, and decide to follow us. Hint: If you're following us instead of doing your job, you're not getting free heals. But you might get abused. I think that's fair.

9 : Ray of Judgement

Because casting it on a single target it totally a worthwhile way to expend you energy and maximise the potential of your profession.

Then again, if you're dumb enough to stand in the RoJ nuke (or any ele nuke) for longer than is necessary, rest assured, I will stop healing you. That's just pressure I don't need.

Sigh.

10 : Touchers

I don't care how awesome Expertise makes 'Touching'. It still sucks, is easy to beat, and is just a waste of time. Rangers can do so much more! Quit pretending it's good, and learn a little about the fantastic opportunities to screw over the enemy the Ranger presents.

***

I think that wraps it up for now. Oh, there's much more I'd like to rant on, but 10 subjects I think is plenty for now, and I don't want to risk a rage induced nosebleed all over my keyboard. I don't have a spare.

I wish I could figure out why I'm still playing AB. I think I just really hate myself an am punishing myself for some wrong I am only aware of subconsciously. Also, please excuse possible bad grammar etc...it's very early, and I'm very tired, but I've had waaaaay too much caffeine...

So much drama! Oh my. Recorded so I may come back and laugh at the serious business of GW at a future date.

Recently, the guild I'm in befriended another guild from outside the alliance to do Deep HM runs with and these runs have been incredibly successful thus far. The guy who leads the runs is incredibly nice and was so very helpful, considering I'm still an elite area noob. Hell, they were all really sound in showing us the ropes of the Deep run.

Anyhow. Today, we start a run. Our Spiteful Spirit/Spinal Shivers necro (from my guild) was already acting up regarding what builds to use. If you've ran Deep, you'll know that you sort of have to work a very team-oriented set up if you want stuff to go smoothly. So this did not bode well.

Fast forward to clearing the first rooms. Room number 2 sits pretty while we nuke the living daylights out of stuff. A Lockpick drops for our SS necro. And then our BiP necro picks it up because by the time they get out, the hold on it has obviously expired. I'm pretty sure the BiP wasn't doing it maliciously either - all but SS necro and one of our mesmers were talking on Vent. SS necro mutters something but doesn't outwardly ask for it back. Instead starts to ***** over Guild Line about thievery and how he's going to **** up the run for everyone. Begging from myself and the mesmer fail to stop him acting like a little ****.

I inform the guys on Vent we may be having problems. They decide to carry on and see what happens, give the guy a chance to behave and see how the run goes. SS necro continues to ***** (I believe the correct terminology is 'QQ') and threaten to **** up the run. I repeatedly offer one of my own lockpicks, to no avail.

We get to that awkward part of the run were people use Recall a lot and have to stand in certain places to open the gate. SS necro refuses to go and stand on their designated spot. Regardless, we get everyone through, but the guys on Vent are getting a little worried now.

Throughout the other rooms, SS necro refuses to stand where he is supposed to or do what he is supposed to. All of us on Vent agree that if he gets himself killed, we're not going to res his stupid ***.

Then comes the Scorpion Aspect room. In this room, the Irukandji at the top of the steps is everyone's best friend and needs to stay alive. The group leader goes to make the pull...and SS necro kills the Irukandji. Everyone is getting mighty pissed at this point, but still keeping their cool and just ignoring this douche - who by the way, is still 'QQing' over guild line. We inform him that if he doesn't quit being a ****, we won't res him.

(Killing Kanaxai will be a struggle, but we're informed it's doable without Spinal Shivers and enchant strips.)

He starts to panic. He asks me if I have res. I tell him "yes, but I won't use it if you're going to **** us around".

He asks me if I support thievery. I tell him no, and that I also don't support screwing up a mission for 11 other people over something quite trivial.

Sadly, the warnings did not work. He got himself killed. No one ressed him. The BiP necro did a little dance on his body.

We carry on, honestly relieved that he's dead.

The threats start. He'll report us to Anet for loot-stealing, he says. He'll report us for abuse. He's taken screenshots and has opened a support ticket, or some other nonsense. We're all going to get banned.

Over one. Goddamn. Lockpick.

SS Necro then smugly informs us that there is NO WAY we're going to kill Kanaxai without his mighty hexes. Those of us on Vent agreed that no matter how long it takes, we HAVE to kill Kanaxai.

We finally get to the end Boss. One of our warriors disconnects. SS Necro is now yapping happily about all the fail which we are about to encounter.

Yes, Kanaxai is very hard to kill when you're missing Spinal Shivers and one of the KD warriors. We had to start timing our interrupts perfectly in order to get anywhere. SS Necro is still not shutting up about how grandly we're going to fail, and how he's staying to watch us wipe/give up.

And suddenly, through sheer force of will alone, Kanaxai is down to like 1% health.

SS Necro left, and missed out on the faction as Kanaxai dies a split second after. There's a stream of angry BS happening over Guild Line, to which my only response was 'LOL'.

SS Necro leaves the guild.

I inform people on Vent of the drama. We all have a good laugh as we run around picking up our chest drops.

And a good time was had by all.

But as a side note...surely no one can get banned or suspended over a lockpick on which the hold had expired? It's not as if the SS Necro made it clear he wanted it back. BiP necro's only regret was that he didn't drop the lockpick on the SS's dead body. And some of us may have been...slightly abusive, but not really. More like telling him he deserved to stay dead for trying to screw up the run for everyone else.

Oh, GW drama doth amuse me so.

So, the other day, I monked for real people for the first time ever. On a Vanquish. And I was surprised. It wasn't that bad. I wasn't that bad. I mean, I could have been better but people were alive more than they were dead.

Then, today, I went and monked in AB. And while there's a certain unpleasantness in knowing everyone's going to target you right away...it wasn't that bad. I think I did okay, all things considering. It's a long way off any more 'leet' pvp but it's all good practice. Especially not relying on the old faithful redbars when you end up healing for randoms that are not team-mates.

The fun thing is that I am really enjoying the profession now, which is something I never would have guessed. I struggle to keep my cool still, and I'm still making noobish mistakes but I think that maybe - just maybe, it's starting to sink in. Still, I've a lot of improving to do.

Back to lurking the Monk forum and Observer Mode, I guess.

Oh, and just 'cause I like pictures - my pve monksauce: (yeah, compression killed that picture alright...oops)

Firstly, this gem. The only reason I play AB really is that I'm guaranteed to find stupidity in some form and stupidity is highly amusing to me. (okay, the faction is nice too but eh.)

So, occasionally, you die in AB or your team mates do, and you're separated. You keep capping/killing until you can regroup. Unless you're teamed with a douchebag warr who wants his hand held and cries when he respawns on a mobbed shrine and we're at the other side of the map. He starts the name calling, and around me, that's just a bad idea. Name-calling makes my lulz sense tingle.

He carried on his tirade even outside in the outpost, alas there was too much to screencap. The gist of it was that because he had higher ranks and more titles than me, he was better. Once just about everyone in the outpost was laughing at him, he ragequit.

People. I know you feel the need to wave your e-peens around when you feel slighted but please understand - there is nothing funnier than an enraged nerd attempting to establish some kind of dominance in a pixel world. But I thank you for the plentiful lulz you dutifully provide me with every time you type anything retarded. Please, don't stop.

---

Vanquish fail = me getting told. I totally deserved it for being too stoned to be useful.

---

And finally - this:

Just about my favourite detail in the entirety of GW. Kitteh luv <3

---

oh, a mesmer got mad at me for refusing to cast through his hexes. I just stand there and type /dance, and after a few confused seconds he starts hitting me with his voltaic. Priceless.

Yeah.

Other than that though, I've been really, really lucky with AB this weekend. I pugged most of it, which is unusual for me, and ended up with some fantastic teams I stayed with for over two hours each time. We all knew what we were doing, all understood our roles in the team, and had some pretty epic fun all round. Twice I ended up in teams of various fairly high ranked PvP folk, and it was honestly refreshing to be around people who had confidence in their builds and tactics. I know it's only AB, and it doesn't really count as real PvP at all, but it certainly makes me want to get into the 'real' PvP even more than I had previously. I would just have no idea where to start, and besides, I'm a nub. Oh, and I suck. Horribly.

(I was a good caster and practiced my weapons swaps too! I know I didn't really need to in AB, but I figure it can't hurt.)

And...I need to get the courage together to take a monk to some form of PvP. I don't think I have the nerve to hold it together but something tells me if I could get over the panic of it all...I might really enjoy monking.

Anyway, enough ranting.

Confused, I check I'm not near a mesmer shrine. I'm in fact, nowhere near a mesmer shrine, and just to make sure, I re-check what weapon set I'm in - I'm still on wand/focus so even if I had been, I would gotten Backfire'd.

I shrug it off, and move on.

Five minutes later, it happens again. I notice a blue mesmer running in confused circles around me. I blow him up and run along like a good little elementalist.

Next game. Same elementalist. Same hex. Different mesmer.

This happened in total around 4 or 5 times throughout various rounds. I kid you not.

I can has reading comprehension?

I love AB.

(And I can't wait to tell my uberleet buddy from [SCAR] that my group rofflestomped some of his guildies too, haha. Oh, and apparently I've opened the Z-chest enough times to get a nubspeer emote. I feel special. No, really. Finally I can join in the dickery and e-peen measuring that happens whenever I open my mouth about something in a town.

[edit] Screaming 'BAD TOUCH BAD TOUCH BAD TOUCH' in all chat when I was accosted by a touch ranger and proceeding to burn it was probably one of the highlights of my day. I need to get a life...)

I wish I'd screencaptured the random abuse I was getting last night. Some random sent me a private message, and me being one who doesn't back down from potential lulz, responded.

He threatened to whoop my ***.
I asked him if he had any level 20 characters to do this with, and he replied 'no, he had deleted them all to make new ones'.
I asked him to go make a pvp only character to come and whoop my *** with.
He responds that he 'didn't do pvp'.
I asked him how he intended to whoop my *** if this were the case.

His response?

"i hav lots of lvl20 frendz u better watch out"

I really hope he was joking. Sadly, this is probably not the case.
