I am Pointless...

I've always wanted to install Linux. I have done for about 7 years now but I've been constantly hindered by rubbish hardware (Also known as laptops).
Now that I've got my own self-built rig, I have a chance to finally get a distro installed. WOOHOO!
So! One purchase and fitting of a second hard drive later (I'm not quite comfortable with partitioning yet) I installed Ubuntu with minimal problems. Just a few cockups on my part trying to set up a user account. Done and dusted. Except... I... couldn't get connected to the internet. I put in the right info (Router name, WEP key etc), but as it tried to connect, the software handling networking... crashed. Great.
It took several attempts to fix that, and even then it was all for naught as I was back to square one after the next restart.
Hopefully I'll suss it soon. I got it connected long enough to get Compiz up and running at least.![]()
