I had been working on getting Naerys further along in Factions, but decided to get back to Dawn and cap a few more elites.
The evening started off with a guildmate's plea for help at Nahpui. Several of us were on and after some planning on who would be able to help, I was able to come along with Dawn. It was a great success; I was able to cap Lyssa's Aura from Hai Jii, and even better, we finished Nahpui at the Masters level reward, so I received an additional two skill points! These are so precious to me. (Aside: I wish I could untrain skills. Before there were title tracks I didn't know what to do with my skill points so I started buying up Monk skills, my usual secondary profession. I only use two or three of those skills, and now wish I could send the others back, so to speak. Oh well.)
After that I decided to venture into Snake Dance and see about Kor Stonewrath and his Earth Shaker knowledge. I joined a group in War Camp that was interested in capping warrior and ranger skills, and we left. Unfortunately we lost one person due to time constraints (literally 10 mins after we left), another one vanished for unknown reasons, and then the other three all vanished simultaneously, due to a large disconnect somewhere I presume. At this point it was Alesia, Mhenlo, and myself and I realized that my prospects at capping Earth Shaker looked dim. So I traveled back to War Camp and this time hired an entire group of henchmen. Luck was with me as Kor Stonewrath appeared at the first possible spawn point and soon I had captured his secret.
Before long, another guildmate said he needed to cap Well of Blood, only available in Mineral Springs. I too could use that (along with Flourish, Shield of Judgement, and Ineptitude) so I switched secondaries to Necromancer and met him in the citadel. I think Senji the Profession Changer knows me quite well at this point. My guildmate DA and I fought our way through Mineral Springs, and found Nhy Darkclaw eventually... the 5th boss we encountered. Clearly we should have gone the other way around the loop! We had some trouble at one spot where 15 Avicara were patrolling close to each other. I hadn't seen such density - it was as if three normal mobs of five spawned on top of each other. It took us a very long time to whittle that group down so we could pass, and three visits to the ressurection shrine. This was the toughest encounter I've had in Mineral Springs, all those Avicara were like facing giant ranger spike team.
The three elites I capped tonight brought me up to 109 elites... still a ways to go for the next skill hunter title. Another limitation I face is with skill points - I predict I will run out somewhere around 125 elites and then will be forced to adventure solely for the experience needed to gain more skill points.
I've already picked out my next adventure: capping Eviscerate in Sorrow's Furnance. Tanzit Razorstone has it, and should appear during the Political Ramifications quest. This quest is repeatable, is worth 6000 XP, so it will also be a trial run as a possible way for me to farm XP for skill points.
