"You move like a Dwarf!" - 01.March.2009

OK, March is the month I usually start training outdoors and today way a sunny day, so I thought: lets go!
I haven't done a lot of endurance training over the winter months and my sports activities have been pretty casual. My team didn't play Vball due to illness of some members and I wasn't there a few times, because I had a lot of work to be done.
Long things short: I am not in the best condition for sports and I my legs hurt after the first round I ran today.

I know, all things you start after a hiatus don't go smoothly, but a few years ago I would not have wasted a thought about it. Now, turning 36 this year, I start to think about it...

PS 2ndMarch: I walk a little bit "stiff" today, but I ecpected worse.

    My cardio training is still lagging behind, as we hardly had a day without rain and strong winds the last two weeks, but I am pleased with my progress in loosing some fat and gaining some muscles again.
    I also went on a Team/High rope/ course this week, which was fun (and would have been more fun if it hasn't been raining the whole afternoon)

    Faculty team is back on track doing sports & we played Badminton the last two weeks. Despite it being still too cold, I try to run twice a week.

    Yeah, spring, finally! And I have hoildays (sort of), so I can increase my running activities a little bit. Looks like others think like me, because I could see several runners on my track today. Too bad all of them were 30+ males like me with their tongue hanging out after a few miles.
    How do you pretty ladies get in shape? Just no eating or hiding in gyms?

    With the good weather in the last few weeks, I jogged two to three times a week and used my bike for short trips to visit friends in neighbouring towns. I wish I would lose a pound or two, but when facing cake, I lack some self control.

    I discovered I haven't posted here in a while. I did the absolute minimum of exercise in June, because I spend most of the day sitting at a desk correcting student's papers during the finals, but July was a decent month, because I bought a new bike & had lots of outdoorsy events to handle.
    Now, in my summer holidays, I try to add a little weightlifting to my schedule and go most of the ways by foot or bike, now that time isn't such a big factor and the daily schedule is pretty relaxed.
