Multiple accounts F*** over.

I'm not posting this in the main forums because it'll probably be considered a whine thread.
But I kinda feel the need to post something somewhere.
Someone I know, and I'm not naming anyone, but I'm sure those who know them know thier situation, has multiple account, most of which were given to them by people who decided to leave the game, but wanted someone to 'keep their seat warm', as it were.
The end result is someone with access to a lot of accounts.
Now yes, this can be an unfair advantage, but...
I also consider it nice that there's someone you can trust to turn over your account to, and then if you decide you want it back, they'll give it back with everything on it, and maybe a few extras. Possibly minus a B day present or two, but considering how many nick gifts that can be gotten at times, they can easily 'pay' the person back.
(y5 b day gifts were going for around 100k last I saw, maybe down to 90k. That's about 20 nick gifts. Worse comes to worse, they can just give back the B day mini that came out of it, or buy them a new one)
Thing is, this person who had all these accounts got most of them suspended for reasons unknown, and then their entire IP got banned.
My guess is anet thinks it's someone who's working as a real money trader (RMT).
Now while I can't say for certain about this person, and I've been wrong about people before, but said person does NOT feel to me like someone who would trade items for RL cash. What they ARE... are generous, and very helpful, usually giving quite a bit to people who are in need.
This includes collectable items for nick, mats for armors or weapons, and even accepting collectables for upcoming events like Canthan New Year, which when I get said items for, I usually turn over to them.
I'm sure that anet has various bots doing the work for them, and to many trades for nothing will show up as suspicious, but you would THINK they'd at least do a follow up right away before suspending an account?
Well, said person has called, actually CALLED anet, and emailed gaile. Nothing.
They gave them the benifit of the doubt, considering that PAX just happend, but it's been almost a week now.
At this point they're in the "F*** ANET!" mode.
My hope is that anet personel get to them sometime soon before we loose ANOTHER valued person to the game.
And not just this game, but the next one.
I'm sending this link to this blog to regina, for what little good it does.
What worries me most is how easilly it could happen to me or other people I know.
I'll fully admit I have extra accounts.
One is my main. Noa.
One is my secondary I got from a cheap trilogy pack from best buy.Tavisha.
One is a friend of mine who got all the extra campaigns, and then decided they didn't want to play anymore, but let me have the account to keep working on it. Their email still works.
Enker.
And one other that I sorta took over from a friend of mine who simply used it for storage, and then later decided it wasn't worth keeping.
I've since upgraded that account, as it was a factions only, with eye of the north, and then later Nightfall when I found a cheap 'used' copy at the comic store. Still looking for a single of proph. Kyshaya.
And then there's Grave of Hearts account, who lets me use theirs during events and for nick gift runs when they have no net.
I don't use that account very much at all, because it hasn't been fully abandoned, but the player sees not much more in the game to really mess with.
The problem they have though, is they linked to someone else's NCsoft account so they could get the BMP pack, but grave and the other person both forgot info to access said account, and the company the email is registered to is DEAD.
Which is likely to be a problem come GW2.
This is something I've wanted to ask gaile or any other customer support person for a while now what can be done there.
Thing is, I've traded stuff between these accounts, and to other people on occasion.
Like... GIVING away a gold year 4 mini.
I honestely think there needs to be a warning of how much one can trade for nothing before they get in trouble, but of course Anet doesn't want people to know that because then the RMT people will know...
But here's the thing... they probably ALREADY know! I have no doubt that some of the older ones have a good idea of what they can and can't get away with, and have it marked down somewhere. The rest of us are playing catch up.
Edit: after having talked with the person, I've come to realize that even if they convince anet they're not RMT people, they're still entirely fcked.
The no account trading policy means that unless they can show proof of thier account, it's not theirs. Worse yet, they can't find the CD key, and the email that was originally used to start it is long gone, considering they're in military and move around a lot.
The game just got black for me.
