Ruins of Morah and Thunderhead Keep:

These are two missions that, unless you've been around the PvE block once or twice, can be really hard to just plow through. A lot of pugs fail THK miserably - and some guild groups can, too - the fact that it's so long, I think, makes it particuarly challenging. One little slip, and checkmate. As for Ruins of Morah, the aggro management is counterintuitive. It doesn't help when crap spawns from out of nowhere. Unless you know it's coming and know how to respond, there is massive ownage.

So, it stands to reason that two of my best friends needed help on those missions last night. I got an alliance group together for THK, which is always fun. A good PvE group makes THK trivial on Normal Mode. We had a degen blood necro, an SS, *and* a Minion Master. That's pretty darn close to gg when you add empathy/backfire on top of it.

Unless, of course, you realize a third of the way through that only 1/2 of your armor is infused. Luckily, a Mesmer is never without a change of clothing. In notime flat, I was styling with Enchanter's instead of my Elite Sunspear. And I was, you know, infused. Speaking of infused, I decided to bring along Infuse Health, for those moments when you just can't otherwise stop silly NPCs (or silly PCs who get in over their heads) from dying. <3 People always freak out when they see me infuse. I love it.

After that, to the Ruins, where I got a guildie to come help, along with PvE master Kedlai Everwinter, the many-talented. We played it straight and got Master's. And then Ked and I chatted for an hour about everything from guild drama to whether titles have made PvE more competitive or not.

Good times, but the night left me thinking about two things:

1) Holy crap, I want to do THK and Morah in Hard Mode.
2) It really sucks to log on to Guild Wars only to find you're stuck at a mission that you can't seem to pug. I'm glad I took the time to help. I enjoy enriching others' GW experience. I guess that's part of what makes leading a guild so appealing.

That, and the cosmic, unfathomable, dictatorial power. Yeah, right. Being the leader of FW is more like being an ambassador than a dictator of anything.

Oh, and since hard mode has come out I have finally achieved my second maxed-out title: Legendary Spearmarshal. Yeah, yeah - I know it's about as easy as Protector of Cantha to get (...my other maxed title...) but I haven't seen too many people carrying it around. I've also wanted this title for a very long time, so having it feels terribly gratifying. Plus, it's nice to use Sunspear Rebirth Signet at 100% health, 100% energy. I'm very excited for the new Sunspear skills to come out, as well. It may be a small thing (definitely not Legendary Guardian), but it's something.
