Not quite ready to devote myself to a legendary yet, but I need a way to get myself 500 ectos or so for some snazzy purple Mesmer weapons.

I know I can get them by salvaging, but I don't seem to have much luck there. If I purchase GW2 and bind it to my GW1 account (assuming that is even possible), would I get any kind of bonuses within GW2? And if so, what kind of bonuses?

I own Guild Wars original, Factions, and Nightfall. The problem at the moment is that I do not remember my login info. I've trying to get it via an email to guild wars support, but as it is the weekend, I do not expect a reply till Monday at the earliest. If there is not much in the way of bonuses or none at all, then I'll just make a new account and forget about recovering my old GW1 account.

But has there been any word on whether or not they're working on it still or it's just a lost cause? I loved having my guild cape to show who I was fighting for in gw1 :(
