Yes, it's been in alpha testing for quite some time. If you do have any questions about it, feel free to ask, most of the community members here are quite knowledgable and anything they can't answer the staff can as alpha testers.
On the note of being in alpha, just keep checking back frequently for news of the beta. You can be sure when something is released, you'll find it on our site at www.GWOnline.Net . I'd imagine the beta can't be *TOO* far away, considering they are shooting for release by the end of this year.

The best part about Guild Wars is...well the guilds. Plus the game looks amazing and the battles are action packed. This game is definately going to be big.
