    There's also the classics:
    LOTR
Dune (every series be it by Frank Herbert or his son+friend). Possibly the greatest series I've read if you enjoy in-depth plots and a huge variety of twists and turns.

Alternativley, for a quick read there's the three Diablo 2 books that were released (Legacy of blood, The black road and The kingdom of shadow) all are very good "short" (my short...I get through 200 pages+ a day on average...) books and excellent authors.

Otherwise there's the all famous elder scroll books that can be found in-game on morrowind and the like. There's several novels worth of stories alone in that thing not to mention history, lore etc. Some of it makes a really good read /end geekyness :p

Those were some pretty good ones in that game. At one point I was trying to find all of the "volumes" of a few of the stories in Daggerfall and in Morrowind as well. Anyone know of any other games that have some good side stories to read in them?

Well it's not much reading but there's some pretty good easter eggs about in the C&C series. If you look carefully in the "install" and "loading" sections of certain games some familiar names show themselves. Such as Lt Eva in the RA2 install file, it mentions some data she found that points to soviet weapon locations etc. Course EVA is the computer system that's used through out the Command & Conquer future games (C&C Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun, Renegade).

Well, that's a little more geekyness out :p

Whoa, what the hell?! I just stumbled upon the strangest thing ever! Possibly some easter egg or something, or maybe some glitch in the map. I was just running around in the nomad's isle guild hall map, the desert-themed one, and suddenly my character got stuck on something in the quicksand water. I looked and moved around, and saw a ... PUMPKIN! It just started floating around, mostly around the same spot. I've walked around elsewhere in that water and there was nothing like that. I've never seen anything like that before. :surprise:

    Has anyone encountered this before?

Shhh! That's where I buried the body of the Mad King - if you don't blow my cover, I'll give you some of the Absinthe I looted off of him!

First book: Gardens of the Moon.

    - Melanie Rawn: Exiles series. - Set in a world where women are the dominant gender. About two mage factions at odds, sort of.
    First book: Ruins of Ambrai.

    - Janny Wurts: Wars of Light and Shadow series. - Beautifully spun tale about two brothers and matters of what is good vs evil.
First book: Curse of the Mistwraith.

    - Jacqueline Carey: Don't think the series has a name, but the books are, in order: Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen and Kushiel's Avatar. - Set in a country where "love as thou wilt" is the general motto, an unlikely heroine becomes involved in a political plot against the throne.
Oh I like how you did plot summaries! These sound interesting.

I want to read your suggestion Bowie, but Idont know if my library has the ones you mean in print. By that author they have five books, Assignment New York, Breakaway, Collision Course, S.T.A.R. Flight, and The Possessed. Are any of these what you're talking about?

Just wondering... has anyone read the chronicles of Narnia lately? With the movie comming out I was contemplating reading the series again but was afraid that it might be geared more toward younger kids...

Other than that I'm re-reading the Chronicles of Narnia b/c seeing the trailers reminded me of how good those books were :happy34:
Does that answer ur question Mako? :happy34: And really, I don't think that they are too geared toward to kids.
