Message log or lack of?

I forgot to ask this last time I made a thread.

I wonder if there's a message log like in d2, sc, or wc3. I keep forgetting who is talking to who in the game...

If you actually click the little chat icon near where the messages appear, a semi-transparent window surrounds them, and it has a scroll bar at the left as a message log. Not sure if it gets cleared when you travel to another area, but it's generally quite helpful.
