Reduce damage from attacks VS Armor value

I was wondering which one is better..? Reduce damage from attacks? all attacks?! including magic?

I can craft boots that has 35 armor, and reduce dmg from attacks. another boots is 50 armor only.

which one's better?

I've never seen plain armour allow you to take 0 damage. 1 damage sure, but not 0. Reduced damage armour can make that happen. So if you can, go with that. If not, well, it's up to you. And hey, I may not know everything, maybe plain armour can reduce damage to 0 and I just don't know it.
