    Best ranged and melee weapons for a N/E?

    I'm at level 15 now and still using a fire staff pretty much and no melee weapon...what would you suggest works best as a ranged weapon and melee weapon (when your buddies need help to finish an enemy off) for a N/E combo?

    The question is why would you want to use a melee weapon at all?

    You would do less damage than with what you are already using!!!

    Otherwise it would obvious that a weapon with no requirements and high damage would be best.

    it's just there are times when you got to "swing one"

    i would suggest using wands. if you can get wands with +energy and recharge that would be a nice thing.

    But if your DESPERATELY wanting to melee as a non-melee class/sub get a fire damage sword and use the elementalist hex that makes target burn for a few seconds when struck by fire damage. but remember that if you dont have the req for the weapon it does basically no damage and in areas past LA you will see a lot of -0's

    Edit: Oh and dont ever "Bump" your own threads. Read the Rules topic, it clearly states not to bump threads.

    Quickness...using a fire wand right now and somebody in another thread mentioned that there are some advanced wands and staves out there to find...

    Btw. you might just be able to do it since you're an Elementalist as well.

    For 3 of the 4 types of elements there's a skill that gives that element as damage to the weapon you use for one minute, at the cost of losing all enchantments though.

    Fire - Conjure Flame - If you're wielding a fire weapon, your attacks strike for an additional 1-13 fire damage.

    Water - Conjure Frost - if you're wielding a cold weapon, your attacks strike for an additional 1-13 cold damage.

    Air - Conjure Lightning - if you're wielding a lightning weapon, your attacks strike for an additional 1-13 lightning damage.

    All you need to do is find a weapon dealing good damage with no requiremnts and a hilt with the proper element.
