Noob question please help

how do I get good weapons, I'm a N/E with a 2 handed axe and I dont think that's right. I was told by an NPC to see the Outfitter (in Ascalon) but cannot find him. I saw one weaopns merchant but I think he was a craftsman? :confused:

Kill monsters and you will get weapons to use. Then, when you get a lot of money, shell some of it out to get a weapon off of a player.
