From Necro To Mesmer

I have a level 20 N/W that I just ascended and I completely regret choosing this character. I bought guild wars to PVP and I realized necros arent to useful in GVG. I was thinking about switching over to a mesmer becasue i hear they can be great pvpers when played right. I am completey new to this class and I am not sure what I should use as my secondary. I was thinking maybe a Mes/N or Mes/Mo. What do you think? Any good PVP builds for one for one of these?

First, Necros aren't useless in GVG, their debuffing skills (curses) are as useful as enchantments, only backwards as they cause the target to grow weaker instead of stronger.

Also, their massive array of DOT skills combined with mesmer is a huge burden on heavy armored type characters.

As for being a mesmer, Mes/Necro would be better than Mes/Mo because monk skills promary objective is to heal with the exception of smiting healing means alot of tension on teh energy bar and fast casting does not help one bit in here. Smiting however may work but most smiting either are close ranged damagers or enchantments to buff the target offensively.

Mesmer/Necro's main strength is either going DOT type or heavy hex (being both is also valid) Necromancer's Soul Barbs compliments this very well too.

I think soul barbs is awesome but imo, i hate anything with a cooldown of more than 10 seconds for PvP battles. I know very few people who use mantra of recovery as thier elite, but I find it invaluable in PvP battles.

Just be ready to run out of mana, but luckily MoR makes power drain and energy tap (or whatever else you plan on using to replenish enegery) that much more effective.

Many people can attest to how powerful getting two uses of power drain in 25 secs is.
