Smile Hello from a first timer.

Hey y'all. First time poster, long time reader. I just finished playing as a Mesmer and now on my Monk. Each has their own style of play, but to no one's surprise I've had better luck finding groups as a monk. Now I understand that Healing is overpowered when comparing to Damage, but there are many ways you can build your monk around. More interesting than watching that party's health bar. Most of the time I don't even look at the sceneries or enemies. Whenever someone dies, they ask why I don't heal even though my energy is depleted trying to keep everyone alive. They don't seem to understand the concept of Life and Essence Bonds and prefer to all tank even though they don't have the armors to be successful. So I made a solo build. Before you criticise me, knowing that this is for PvE only and it's anti-melee. Other than that, I welcome your advises on making it better.

Yeah, some n00bs autmatically assume every monk is a healer. I'm starting a monk myself and so far, I'm having success splitting between healing and smiting. Some smarter monks I've played with as my main even point out that they are smiters and not healers when starting a PvP match.

    Welcome to teh forums! :D

Welcome to the forums and nice pics!!! Way to put the hurt on them there Minotars!!! I've been really interested in playing a pure Monk but I have too much time invested into my Warrior, Ranger, Mesmer, and Ele to deleate any of them (BTW, my Mes is my favorite char to play). Hopefully we will get some more char slots witht he expansion and I can build one.

Good Monks are hard to come by which is why they are in such great demand. They also are the class which recieves the greatest amount of grief (other than the dreaded W/Mo). So far I have not met a Monk I didn't like. :howdy:

Welcome to the forums! I like your build though personally I would replace kinetic armor with another smiting skill if you want to solo... Balthazar's aura is costly but very effective... otherwise maybe symbol of wrath. How much energy do you gain with Balthazar's spirit?

Sometimes I use Balthasar's aura and Symbol of Wrath to finish them off faster. However facing tougher foes, Kinetic Armor is an assurance. Balthazar's Spirit gives me one Energy for every hit I believe. Hence I hate fighting 1 or 2. The more the merrier
On a side note, this is a neat picture of Sand Wurm versus Sand Elementals.
