Showing Damage from Backfire, Empathy etc.

Playing a mesmer I just thought it would be neat if spells like Wastrel's Worry, Backfire and Empathy actually showed the damage they do (as little yellow numbers above the enemy's head), like regular damage spells.

Is there any reason why these numbers aren't displayed?

Maybe those spells aren't affected by armor, so the damage is always the same- only dependant on the attribute levels.

I wouldn't think that mattered. I've noticed my necro's Putrid Explosion does the same damage every time to every creature. Still displays it.

But yeah, I agree that Backfire and others should show their damage. I also think mesmers should look less like leprechauns, but hey....

All of the mesmer's spells aren't affected by armour but still show up.

Its b/c its a hex...and I bet the game forgets who cast the hex on the guy after you cast it...I can't think of anything that would reference the person that cast a hex after it was already done.

    Yeah

Whole-heartedly agree. It's easier to gauge how well I'm doing, what needs to be changed, what I like, etc... when I can physically see the damage these things do.

Another thing I'd like to see: How much damage my pets / minions take and receive.

Backfire doesn't show. I've never seen it. You can see that it is working because the health bar will jump down, but it would be nice to see that number even if it is the same each time.

I've never really paid attention to say one way or the other, but I can say for sure that when my elementalist is hexed with backfire, I can see the damage numbers over my head when I cast...
