    Collector that gives Fur Hides

as any first time warrior does i nearly wet myself looking at the price of fur squares :P. so im left with no choice but to chase down charr hides in hopes of salvaging those 8 fur squares needed for the 50ac ascalon armor. however, when i was wandering around aimlessly in old ascalon with one of my earlier players i swear i ran across a collector that took salvagable monster drops and gave you rare materials (ie fur squares).
anyways, was i just dellusional or is there really a collector out there with this kind of trade. if so could you send a snipet of a map with a marker showing his/her location?
    thanks lots :)

You are right. There is a Collector in Ascalon that will give you a fur square for I think 4 Charr hides. She is near the regular merchant. She will swap it for either a bag or a fur square.

Also I have heard that a Expert Salvage kit can produce a fur square from a charr hide but I havn't tested this either.

Note: I think she doesn't appear if you are in a international district.

When you are in town, keep the ALT button pressed. The name of all NPC will appear, very handy.

The collector you are looking for is just across the street from the dye trader.

You are correct about that. Expert Salvage Kit can salvage a fur square from Charr Hide although not as frequently as one might like.

From all the Hides I've processed (not just Charr Hides, any hides will do) I manage to get approx. 1 fur square for each 5-6 hides.
The same applies to Iron Ingots. If you use an Expert Salvage Kit on weapons that would otherwise produce Iron ingots, you have a chance of salvaging 1 steel ingot for every 5-6 attempts.

The best hides I have found to salvage fur squares from are Losaru hides. Up until about 2 weeks ago or so, I was getting anywhere from 2-5 furs from each hide when I did get fur squares. Which I might add, was very often. Lately though, it's only been 2 and no more then that.

The price of Fur Squares is quite high. I remember seeing from a trader the cost of 4Plat for 10 fur squares. This was on the European servers.

You best bet is to head on over to the breach and just keep killing Charr until you have enough charr hides to trade for a fur square.

In the meantime you can use the cheaper Ascalon armour. Thats what I'm doing. When I have enough money I go and get the next peice of the 50 armour.

I only have one more left to get and thats the 50 chest peice.
