Mesmers get no love in UW/FoW =[

For some reason, people just do not understand the effectiveness of mesmers. A mesmer could possibly even solo UW with the right build because of Signet of Midnight + Epidemic. Whenever I post an LFG though, no one takes it, and when I try to join a group everyone rejects. I wish people would learn =[.

Yep, stuff like that is super annoying. Mesmers rock in fissure or UW, but people just dont want to try anything new or just want to stick with theire trapper/smite builds.

Anyways, I routinely go to Fissure at least 1-2 times a week and I know im always glad if there is a mesmer in the group.

Yeah I feel for you there... My friend is a mesmer, but it seems they are left out of everything because they have a mask on or something!

I feel sorry for them.. I almost made one because I wanted to prove that they are very useful and shouldn't be so under-rated!

I think Mesmers are Great..... I have an E/ne and some time wish I would have gone e/me..... I have two friend io travel with all the time and they are both mesmers (r/me) adn they work great!!!!!! there degen in the best I think.... my next charactor is going to be a Mesmer/Ranger or Elementalist.... havent decided.... any of you want to team just look up Fizban Blackstaff or Katheryl Soulaxe, we alway travel together adn would be glad to have another along.

Again, this is probably because most memsers aren't played very well. Most mesmers seem to just spam empathy on everything in sight then do nothing more than shoot at things with their wands/staves so a lot of people don't understand how effective a good mesmer can be.

Try grouping with some friends or guildies who can appreciate what you can do. Organized groups have a much higher chance of survival in UW/FoW anyway. :D

there are plenty of ways of getting through UW using mesmers but you would probably have to build around them for it to work. the groups and teambuilds ive worked with have no use for mesmers at all in UW however.

fissure is a different story. we have a mesmer primary in every fissure group and usually more than 1 mesmer secondary, all with hex strips. hex stripping makes fissure so much easier its crazy. that and smiting/holy damage and you are laughing.

i used to stick with mes secondary for fissure for the hex removal. but recently ive prefered to switch secondaries to monk. go judges insight and max out dmg dealing. galrath slashing a shadow monk for 150 dmg is just too good to pass up.

A mesmer in the FoW is quite good if they come ready to interupt spells or skills. So many of them have 2-4 seconds of activation that a mesmer can exploit.

I actually use the Leech Signet as a lone mesmer skill in a Mo/Me just to stop Malestrom, Healing Signets, and various other skills.

The other thing in the FoW is the ol' Backfire the monk bit. Never seems to get old.

and to think it used to be rangers get no love ANYWHERE but nw we owned in UW =), but ya mesmer hav their use in FOW damn monks n eles :happy65:

The reason they get no love is most people never get past the bulls, and those who do only fight the smites.

The deeper you get into the underworld the more important mesmers and necros become there.

Last night some of us from from here ran three monuments with a wild party with only one warrior. Not sure the full build, but it was like 2 nukers, 2 healers, 1 tank, two necros, and I believe a mesmer? I know we used mesmer secondaries alot.

Rangers have there use too, but I think they become less powerful the deeper you go in.

No one build owns here, the key seems to stay flexible.

I love mesmers! I always have 1 or 2 with me when I do a Fissure run with people. They rock! :happy05:

As for Underworld...it is pretty tough, and people do shy away from taking "unconventional" characters because of the initial part with the "bulls", as Coldwavekid called them (I can't remember their actual name either..).
