I got pissed off when I couldn't use the +5 energy Insightful staff head for PvE after unlocking. I don't have any more slots for PvP and don't intend to create one.

perhaps because that would require about 250-300 skill points?

You don't have to buy new armour at every town. Skipping some town's armours should be OK. Even so, I found that I can afford to buy most of the armours at every next town on my first time through the game. It may be that I do all the side quests, unless you see doing them as grinding.

The faction system was put in so PvP-focused players could unlock more items while doing the thing they enjoy. I would imagine that the time estimated to unlock items should be about the same as PvE.

If you aren't enjoying the PvP part, that's it's "a grind", what reasoning is there that it will be infinitely better once everything is unlocked?
Perhaps the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others...

**NNNHHHHTTT!** WRONG!!! When yo uchange your secondary, you lose ALL the skill points you spent on those skills. You have to grind for HOURS to get enough xp to "level up" once at level 20 to earn extra skill points.

if you earn 200 faction in ten minutes, then in fifty, you have your new skill.

PvE, if they are short of Skill points, takes about.. ooh.. five hours to earn the xp (in europe anyway- without UW)

changing your profession is a MASSIVE commitment to the god of skill point grinding!

really, if you dont intend to play pvp to earn faction then dont bother about it, just carry on with your normal pve lives.

that's how i play, anyway, im a pve'r and not a very big pvp fan, but i just look at the faction as some kinda long term bonus for the every now and then that i play pvp for fun. it doesn't bother me. :)

oh and if you do gvg, you can rake in quite a lot of faction at one shot if you win.
