On 60 Minutes tonight, a segment about a city and its newspaper shutting down. I remember when Des Moines had both the Register in the morning and the Tribune in the afternoon.

Now Ultra HD is out with 4k resolution and greater (and for only around $10,000 USD to start) and yet it wasn't long ago my wife and I were talking about how great Blu-ray is and how we didn't see how it could be improved. Where will this resolution increase end? I can't even imagine something with twice the resolution of 1080p. But then I thought 480p was fantastic and so life like it would last forever.

I think I have a basic idea going off my iPhone's Retina display.
To be honest, though, TV doesn't need another resolution increase right now. The developed world's barely getting a chance to get accustomed to 1080. >_>

My PC monitor is 1080p, but with only playing games, I can't say it's as good as a movie. What I do know is with higher resolution, I always need a bigger screen. So for me, if I bought a 4k or greater resolution TV, I'd need to have a 200 inch screen.
