Interesting Fansite Friday Note on Chapter 2

What do you, the devs, think Guild Wars needs the most right now? It’s known that you’re planning some cool new features like Observer Mode and some sort of improvement to the trade system, such as an auction house. But what else is on your TODO list for the current chapter?

One of the biggest things we think Guild Wars needs right now is the addition of new and expanded Guild features and activities, because those things encourage players to form and care about guild communities. A major focus of Chapter Two is making guilds matter more in the game, and creating alliances of guilds who can work together to accomplish large-scale game objectives.
Now we know from previous FF's that they plan to add GvG that involves more than 2 guilds (i.e. you can invite your ally guilds), but could this new FF also suggest missions and quests that multiple guilds can participate on?

If so, it would certainly be a welcome and epic addition!

EDIT: What I mean to say is that a mission allow more than one group. So two allied guilds can do a mission and try to accomplish the same goal. Each group is allowed the 4,6, or 8 player group size.

    Now this sounds interesting.
Imagine 2 or more smaller guilds joining forces and going on raids that require 30-40 players. :D

Or maybe 2 guilds can tag team so that there can be come (8+8) vs (8+8) action!

The multi-guild collaboration would also be an excellent feature in PvE. What we really need is a PvE guild rating/ranking since my guild is mostly PvE players and our PvP ranking sucks badly (though we are an excellent and VERY active guild of about 70 members). Maybe the guild's total wealth of cash can increase our PvE ranking, as well as the number of endgame characters, etc. Also stuff like the titan quests should also give you guild points to increase your PvE ranking. This would be very good indeed.

From my knowledge of the previous Fansite Fridays (#59 or so), the designers suggested that they plan to definitely include multiguild PvP. That is, two or more allied guilds vs. two or more other allied guilds. I personally am looking forward to the castle siege format (if there is one).

Now what I'm more interested in is the community response to the possibility of guild collaboration in PvE missions, i.e. raids that feature more than one group working together or against one another (as Wandalf suggested).

Even if this is not currently considered by AN, I am curious what other people think of this idea.

EDIT: Heck, it would even be interesting if each mission has two teams that work for different sides of the map! They could be working against or with each other. This would create a lot of player dynamics. Instead of everyone being heroes of Ascalon, there could also be some heroes of Kryta, of Orr, etc.

EDIT 2: Btw, Wandalf: Love that sig. Be sure to check out my Desperate Dolyak build/module in the Warrior's section (just search for it). There've been a lot of rip-offs of it, but I think you may find the original interesting to play!

Don't get your hopes up. They promised that the retail release would have the effects of guild versus guild combat displayed in outposts and cities, flying the flag of the victorious guild in their occupied territories. GW still doesn't have anything like that.

I'd guess that they've finally started implementing that feature, and that's what they're talking about.
