terakhan, Ramadan is not a holiday event :)
Ramadan is a holy month when Muslims all over the world fast throughout the whole month. The first day of the month after Ramadan is a holiday called EID (pronounced as: eeed). Eid is celebrated as a 2 or 3 day holiday throughout the Muslim world. On Eid day it is tradition to give young kids money as gift, so they can buy whatever they like. If ANet wants to implement Eid, it'll be as easy as giving out money to everyone in the game while they are in towns.

P.S. Eid this year was on November 3, 2005

The one holiday they must include -

There is one holiday they must include - "International Talk Like A Pirate Day". It even has "international" in the title, so you know everyone celebrates it. Institute a global text filter that occasionally interjects pirate-like speech patterns when the user doesn't. Phrases like "OMG REZ ME U NOOB!" are more amusing when it comes out "Shiver me timbers, REZ ME U NOOB!", or when "LOL UR TEAM SUCKS" just comes out as "Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr".

    Other great ideas:

Towel Day - Here's your chance to show everyone just what a hoopy frood you really are.

Mad Hatter Day - Either June 10th or October 6th, depending on if you keep dates month/day or day/month - the confusion is part of the fun!
Current Avatar is from the Studio Ghibli film "Spirited Away", directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
The creature is not a spider, but a "Susuwatari", a creature made from soot, and it is carrying a piece of coal.

Actually, I think something along these lines would be funny if ArenaNet inserted silly words instead of **** for their language filter. Not necessarily piratey words, except on Internation Talk Like a Pirate Day, just a silly or nonsensical one. I can see it now....someone's madder than a wet hen and shouts out "I don't give a farkle!".

It's so rare to find people who know about things like this; if Anet implemented it, I would love them forever. Imagine eye-patch helmets... aaaargh!

Too many holiday events would be alot of pressure to put on the dev team. Can you imagine how long they had to be planning and working on those map changes for Halloween? And besides, if they celebrated EVERYTHING, wouldn't you get a little holidayed-out?

Halloween was good because it's really a non-religiously-exclusive holiday. Everyone can celebrate it. I don't see strictly-americanized holidays such as thanksgiving or the fourth of july being celebrated in an internationally played game because half the world wouldn't know or care what it is. Christmas, and um... those other holidays around that time... they won't work.

New Years will be big. Not much else that I can imagine,

    Christmashanukwanzaa Event?

Is it me or has the ANet staff been pretty quiet as of late? No doubt hard at work for Chap 2, tormentor armor, observer mode, etc... and I'm hoping they find time for a holiday event like they did for halloween. I missed the madking and all the festivities that accompanied his coming, so I hope to join in on any holiday event!

    Yard Gnomes for everyone!!

I do this sort of thing for a living. Every time they do something like Halloween it takes developer man hours, artist man hours, tester man hours etc… just to make sure every thing looks good and plays well with the other game mechanics…. WEEKS/MONTHS of time to do something like this… now think about WEEKS/MONTHS time spent on EACH holiday… I don’t know about you but I am not playing GuildWars to see what happens at Christmas, or Thanksgiving or Easter and fark sakes not Flag day. I play because I like the game. (most days)

Spend these WEEKS/MONTHES (x each holiday) implementing LONG TERM fixes & additions we all want! You know what the could have don in the same amount of time they worked on Halloween? A new area could have been designed and tested, a city could have been updated with better quests, new armors could have been designed, new weapons implemented rather than pumpkin helms. THINK about it! Would you rather have different surroundings for 2 weeks in a couple spots on the map, or would you rather have a new character class implemented? Personally I am looking at the long haul, the BIG PICTURE, not 2 crappy weeks in some town where if your not camping out you don’t get squat.

If you keep asking for this crap they will give in and waste senseless HOURS/ DAYS/WEEKS/MONTHS, eventually YEARS on poop many of us could care less about. Make the game better FOREVER rather than glittery for a few measly days.
