    question regarding deep wound

Let's say, an enemy has 540hp max.

does deep wound takes 20% off that 540hp every second or does it take 20% off the current HP that the enemy has?

    I did a test....

....the enemy was bleeding....I used deep wound and landed the hit. I then stopped attacking and just watched the enemy's life bar and it doesn't seem to be lowering by 20%.....BUT once i begin to attack again with just regular attack, the life bar seems to go down quite quick..

    why is that?

deep wound cuts the target's MAX health by 20%. the reason ur attacks seemed to hurt more was because the target had less health so each attack took off a bigger percentage of health.

no deep wound's effect takes place for as long as its duration says unless it is removed. if the target had 500 health deep wound would make it 400 until it wears off or is removed.

a 500HP monster suffering deep wound will have 400HP but the health indicator will still appear as full.
If the deep wound expires while you're still hacking away, you'll see a sudden jump in the health as if somebody healed it, because it has recovered the lost 20%

500hp monster gets hit with deep wound. his hp is now 400.

when his health was 500 and you hit him for 50, the health bar showed a 10% drop in health.

now his health is 400, so when you hit him for 50 his health bar shows a 12.5% drop in health.

that is why it looked the way it did.

so basically deep wound is useless if the opponent has already lost half of its hp then......?

No, it will be useless if it already had deep wound, if it doesn't and the target has below 50%, putting deep wound on would still reduce the targets hp, making the target easier to kill.
