    The Recurve Bow

I know this might be kind of awkward, but the thread "Bow FAQ" doesn't really answer my question, nor does it provide a satisfactory answer. (The Guide itself is excellent. Don't let this simple post change your mind about it)

The FAQ guide said that the Eternal bow is either a composite/recurve bow. Well, I've done some testing on the Eternal bow vs. Composite bow. I'm 100% positive that the eternal bow is a recurve bow. I've tested the flight time on both and it was pretty evident that the composite bow is THE speedy one. This brings me to the next point:

What makes you want to use a recurve bow? :confused :

Every bow has its own particularity, as proven in the Bow FAQ. What about the recurve bow? I've searched the forums; people claim to use recurve bows for spike builds in PvP. This bow has slightly-average range, flight time slighty superior than average, mediocre refire rate.... to sum up : I don't understand.

I would be more than pleased if someone could answer this.

P.S. Merry Xmas to everyone BTW (kinda late but.... :xmas9: )

I just reverified the Bow FAQ. It says that it is the same class, but maybe it's just me :S Wtv, case solved, I guess...

yeah, i was about to mention that... AFAIK, recurve == composite. but i think recurves sometimes show up as the collector (ascalon bow) model. i prefer them, no idea why. don't like missing, i guess ;)

Well, the advantage of the recurve/compo/half moon is the arrow's speed and low arc, making it the ideal bow type for interrupting, and for, as mentioned above, "not missing."

The way around this is to use Favorable Winds, which will flatten out the arc and speed up the velocity of arrows fired from any bow type to roughly the same, and I believe Read The Wind does this as well; I never use it, as its a prep, and I'm a big fan of Barrage.

My ranger is using an Eternal Bow (14%^50, 29Hp, Poisoner's) that she farmed during a UW trap run in PvP. I have to admit, it's a handy bow. Normally I would use a flatbow for interrupting. That means Favorable Winds or Read the Wind is necessary. Now I can interrupt without FW/RtW and add Kindle Arrows to increase the damage rate. Thus, an extra free slot :xmas5:

To sum up, Recurve bows FTW :happy14:
