Yes I have been thinking if the Lich actually was a Lich before the destruction of Orr which would make sense. He if anybody would be capable of pulling of such a plan. First destroy Ascalon to hide the Ascended then lure the largest invading Charr force to Orr. Then destroy them and create several minions the process and removing several opposing forces at the same time. Two apocalypses so close to each other does seem odd and convenient.

I am looking for any statues and descriptions anyone can get their hands on. So far we know of the Deity statues and the text you see when you look at their plaque. If anyone knows of any other please post them here.

I am also looking for any images of murals or paintings like the ones found in post-searing ascalon with the Deities and The Forgotten

The theory that symbols on their cloaks represent Mursaats they worship is the most plausible one. It's funny how when I first came across those I thought to myself 'Oh, some sword design on their cloak.' but after encountering Mursaats and noticing certain statues I now realize those actually represented Mursaats.

Do you know what statues I'm talking about? I will be more than glad to post a screenie once my wireless network is back up since screenies are on the computer upstairs.
I would bbe very interested in any screenies of these statues

Perhaps the Wings emblem we see ont he shield and banner depict a griffon?]
Rurik's symbol (the sword + shield) also appears on the book items (the Orrian history in the Gates of Kryta bonus and one on the quest in Fissure of Woe, don't have a pic), on King Adelburn's cape (pic 2), and on Mad King Thom's cape (the undead Krytan king from the Halloween event, pic 3).

Hmm, relation between the ancestral Krytan and Ascalon royal bloodlines, maybe? Or just reading to much into it?

    Excellent work:

Book items, I would be interested if any image of them can be found, or are the same as the Tome that you see next to the Fountain in Ascalon?

I am ont suprized that Adelburn has the cape, but the Mad King Thom? That is very interesting and makes one really wonder about any connection. I can not seem to see the symbol you have for image 3, anyway to get it clearer?

Yah perhaps we may be reading alot into it all,b ut that is not a bad thing, it adds a different aspect in our exp of GW so keep it coming :)

Ascalon and Kryta connection: A Community member recently submited an image taken from Mad King Thom's cape, the undead King of Kryta that was seen during the last Halloween event. It is the SAME Sword and Shield emblem we see on Rurik and Aldeburns cape, on the different Tome such as near the fountain in Ascalon, and on the gate to the Ascalon Academy. What is the connection? Does the emblem trully refer to the Guild all three belong too? Could there be some ancestrial connection between Ascalon and Kryta?

Added Ascalon emblems: We have found additional sources where the eledged emblem of Ascalon is found, additional locations include a flag in the Battle Isle which is thought to be the Flag of Ascalon, as well as on the cape of the Mad King Tom, Undead King of Kyta.

    The Sword and Shield crest

While it is thought that this emblem represents Ascalon, as we see it on the back of the Mad King Thom, what indeed is it? Someone stated it may be the guild emblem that Rurik belonds to. If someone knows the name plese let me know. There is some connection between the undead king of Kryta, Mad King Thom, and the Ascalon Academy, Rurik, Tomes, and Aldeburn. If anyone has thoughts with this let me know.

    The Tomes

There are a number of Tome we see through out Tyria. The one I have an image of is found next to the fountain in Ascalon. Could I get the community to search out Tyria for these other tome and submit any details rgarding what they represent, text if they display any history like the diety statue plaques and any details that may help add to their identification?

    1. Tome of ?: Ascalon City Post-Searing: Details Unknown
    2. Tome of Rubicon: Sorrow's Furnace: Why do we find an ancient Tome of the Dwarves emblemized with the crest of Ascalon?
    3. Tome of the Fallen: Nonali Academy
    4. Tome of ?:King's Watch
    5. Tome of ?:Gates of Kryta

Hmmm, perhaps a collection of the Mad King's quotes would also be a good addition. Maybe they'll hint on his past?

    I think so, but...

Eratimus, do you have pictures from the statue of Glint in the Crystal Desert, the one in Salt Flaks nearby where the ghost of the quest there may be found? It has some runes (hieroglyphs, I think) in its base.
