Don't think buff/nerf or bugged are the correct terms, i think their definitly needs to be a skill description fixed on it though. Interesting none the less...

I just tested it and seems to have been fixed since the last patch.
Ether Prodigy causes damage when you renew it. I'd rather have seen it fixed the other way around, but hey, can't have everything. ;)
