Help with certain type of build

What I am wanting to do, and before you ask yes I did do some searches, is build my N/Mo to be able to do about anything. 99% of the builds listed were solo farming in certain areas.

My goal is to be an all around player. To survive in most any area, mainly with a few other players or henchmen, and some solo. I'd rather be good in all areas of the GWs world than just a few elite locations.

So dmg dealing and survivability in combination I guess you could say. Any links or help on gear/attrib/skills would be helpful.

last time I went into a little bit of detail people told me to search for it, which I did, and my question went unanswered.

Its vague but I want my N/Mo to where he can survive. I want to kill and not be killed, not just be standing in the distance healing nukers.

Heres another things that might be less vague, maybe. My wife plays with me, she uses a 55hp solo monk farmer, I'd like to have a necro who can help out keeping her alive while killing stuff also. Maybe there is a combo of monk and necro that compliment each other well.

Or you could say the SS, MM, or whatever builds do that. If you think the MM build for example is a good combo of dealing dmg while staying alive in most areas of the world, then you could suggest that. Also I am trying to stay away from the solo 55hp farming necro because they are only good at certain areas, like fow and uw, and I wanted a more versitile one.

won't let me edit my above post so:

ok after searching other forums, I found a build I will use. BUT there was no gear/weapons listed.

    Can anyone help with that?

here is the build I will be using (and this is before southern shiverpeaks)

    Death: 12+4
    Curses: 11+1
    Soul Reaping 6+1

    Mark of Pain
    Spiteful Spirit {Elite}
Suffering or Insidious Parasite (best used on fast attackers)
    Blood of the Master
    Verata's Sacrifice
    Death Nova
    Animate Bone Fiend
    Animate Bone Horror

    After southern

    Blood Magic: 12+4
    Curses: 11+1
    Soul Reaping: 6+1

    Mark of Pain
    Suffering
    Life Siphon
    Insidious Parasite
    Mark of Subversion
    Awaken the Blood

    Last two:
    Well of Power {Elite}
    Shadow of Fear
    OR
    Spiteful Spirit {Elite}
    Well of Blood

I just need some gear and weapon/offhand to complete this.

And how do you plan on getting Spiteful Spirit before the Southern Shiverpeaks?

and this build is crap. You can't be a good MM with a low SR like that... MoP is useless... and the Gear Doesnt matter at All, use what you want...

By far the best you can do as a Necromancer/Monk with a small group or solo is as a Minion Master. There are plenty of builds in this forum for that. I threw a build together really quickly that combines damage with survivability and healing.

    Nec

    Necromancer/Monk
    Level: 20

    Soul Reaping: 9 (8+1)
    Blood Magic: 15 (11+4)
    Death Magic: 10 (9+1)
    Healing Prayers: 8

    - Vampiric Gaze (Blood Magic)
Steal 60 Health from target foe.
    Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:5

    - Life Siphon (Blood Magic)
For 24 seconds, target suffers -3 Health degeneration, and you gain +3 Health regeneration.
    Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:2

    - Shadow Strike (Blood Magic)
Target foe takes 48 shadow damage. If that foe's Health is above 50%, you steal 48 Health.
    Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:8

    - Deathly Swarm (Death Magic)
Deathly Swarm flies out slowly and strikes for 58 cold damage on up to three targets in the area.
    Energy:10 Cast:3 Recharge:3

    - Putrid Explosion (Death Magic)
The corpse nearest your target explodes, sending out a shockwave that deals 88 damage to nearby foes.
    Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:5

    - Healing Breeze (Healing Prayers)
For 10 seconds, target ally gains +6 Health regeneration.
    Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:2

    - Aura of the Lich [Elite] (Death Magic)
For 35 seconds, your maximum Health is halved, but you take half damage from all sources. When Aura of the Lich ends you're healed for 177 Health.
    Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:30

    - Restore Life (Healing Prayers)
Touch the body of a fallen party member. Target party member is returned to life with 39% Health and 68% Energy.
    Energy:10 Cast:8 Recharge:0

Schwifty five! Thanks alot for this info, I will use this instead. See how NOT difficult a simple answer was.... Someone said any gear would work, ok that covers armor. I have heard of a weapon and icon/off hand item but not sure which is best. For weapons (and gear) money is not an issue so can anyone suggest those for this build??

For gear, I'd go with Tormentors armour. It has 70 AL (take more damage from holy damage though) and decent energy. For weapons you might want to collect the trade materials for the 20/20 Blood Staff or 20&20/20 Wand/Focus combo from a collector in the desert. There are also a few greens you might want to use, including Kole's Torment, Gordac's Needle+Gordac's Hook Blood (or Needle+Shadestone). You can find desert collector info and green weapon info at GuildWiki
