Similar thing happened to a couple of times on blue and purple items and once on a gold. IDed as nothing and worth slightly more than a regular item.
Still wondering why it was gold? Maybe it was jewel encrusted or something.

I've had that before with both purple and blue armours. Never with a gold one, though.

I had it happen for 3 Purple Armor drops today. Out of 3.
I think it's a nasty side-effect of the rune system changes
