Hmm, I think there is a way around that, since the siege turtle attacks don't do collateral damageOriginally Posted by Lord Melvin

heheh thanks for making my day, hilarious! (I was in need of new keys anyways :P )
awww come on it's not such a stretch, those quirky folks they keep behind closed doors at Anet have shown before an off-beat sense of humor we all enjoy, Rodgort/Trogdor, the Ogre Slaying Knife, etc etcOriginally Posted by Cérilia

(which, on a completely off-topic note, I found a wep in Cantha this past weekend that had a "dmg +10% vs. Ogres" mod on it, could make that Knife the 'leet' Green to have :P )

Just a small reminder for the ones that don't read the ritualist forums.
(It's NOT the link to the other discusion about this.)

AAAANNeeeeeeeet, hellloooooooo!!
Cantha is in ashes, it's burning, fiiiix it!
Hello.
I know about the book trick. Why does ANet create spells that do not work for ritualists.
You get attacked immediately.
The best way to use them is to exploit the AI. This is not okay.
truer words have not been spoken yet.The best way to use them is to exploit the AI. This is not okay.
Just my $.02.
The issue with the Ritualist skills will need to be fixed, unless there is some reason they are considered more detrimental to the "mob" than anything else going on.
In regards to the other various "tricks", a lot of people are calling them exploits. Having played this game since release and seeing what ArenaNet does when people take advantage of exploits, I think it's fairly clear the ArenaNet doesn't consider those "tricks" to be exploits. Not sure what they consider them though. Alternative solutions maybe? I don't expect them to be done away with and some of the explanations I've seen given in this thread do make some of them seem more plausible.

I'd remove that unless.Originally Posted by Garreth MacLeod

The best thing ArenaNet could do right now is remove any way for players to control who the enemies attack. (And possibly add random targetting in, if they actually want a "challenge". That's the easiest way they have available to do it) Short of that, they'd need to overhaul their entire enemy AI so that it becomes less abusable. Any time you can predict exactly what something will do, you can beat it every time (If it's possible for you to do so :P)
Yes it's true that monsters can be rather easily manipulated but then again, I'm not against some form of manipulation - most mobs aren't that smart! And well .. if it were possible to let ettins behave less intelligent then summit I'd wholeheartedly agree!Originally Posted by salaboB

So yes, away with it - unless the AI can make a difference between a gear and a Scepter of Orr ...!!
