But you never know, Rome predated its emperors, and the US survived almost ten years before George Washington was president. Anyway, I punched in the new numbers and the results are:

62,264 male descendants, which based on my 1:1 ratio makes for

124,527 total descendants of King Doric.

If I further extend the equation to population (20 regular people for every one chosen) that gives us a human population of Tyria at 2,490,543 total. Congrats GW players! A few of you have been certified as Chosen again. (But, boy, now I'm wondering if the Charr were some sort of game warden race: Thinning out the numbers of humans so that we don't overpopulate the place ). Thanks for your input.
Sadly this equation is only really usable for perfect scenerios, but lets have a look at it anyway.

I would think it more likely that Doric was most likely the King long before the founding of Ascalon, perhaps the ruling head of organized tribes. Upon the founding of Ascalon he is crowned officially, such things are not uncommon and make sense as people always have some ego in them and want to leave their "noteable" marks.

The biggest problem I have, in all honesty, is the variable you choose as your base. The Irish descendancy is perhaps not the best choice as that perticular group of people experienced incredible hardship, notably the Potato Famine. This will scew numbers significantly, as many many possible off spring died and with them the possibility of more children. Though, since we want accuracy, we can dismiss this with the many Tyrian wars and what not, even though its not good to do it, but since you put so much effort in we will .

I would probably put the year of your equation to 1,200. This would factor in any posibility of a tribal kingdom prior to Ascalon and also the wording of "over a hundred years ago" on the monument.

    Pluging those in:
    ~Males: 775533
~Females: 83995 (Assuming the current 48%/52% real world make up of male/female)
    ~Total: 161529 Off-spring, without factoring in abnormalities.

If we take into account that primitive Ascalon was probably like primitive Earth there would be far more children born, especially to the king, than in 6th century A.D. This would significantly increase numbers. However when we do this we must also take into account probable high mortality rates, though there are more born than lost so it is still a problem. Final thing to take into account is off shoots in the genetic pool, but those are to conditional.

    Overall great work.

I guess I didn't stress this well enough in my explaination, but I did not factor in the possible influences, such as war and famine, that could have caused certain lines of Doric's family tree to die out. I'm not that great at mathematics. Furthermore, I understand that I was making a leap of judgement in basing the success of Doric's line according to the success of another family's lineage. However, I want to thank all of you for taking this exercise seriously enough to point out the inconsistencies so that we may build a better perception for everyone of what Tyria is really like.

    Zzzzzzz... Huh-what? I wasn't sleeping!

Sorry, talk of maths always makes my brain shutdown. I only barely scraped through maths in school. That's a fantastic effort you put in though.
