Let's say you cast shadow form. Then, when there is only 3 seconds left on the shadow form duration, you cast Protective Spirit. When Shadow Form ends, will your health still drop down to 42, or will PS negate most of the damage?

From the wording it is impossible to say:
For instance:
Illusion of weakness causes you to 'lose' xxx health, but behaves like a (albeit delayed) life steal (doesn't trigger balthazars spirit and ignores defensive enchantments). If shadow form behaves like this (most likely for balance reasons?) then protective spirit will not reduce the damage you take.
Whereas:
Dark aura causes you to lose life whenever the target of the enchantment sacrifices life. This life loss is reduced by defensive enchantments and does trigger balthazar's spirit. If shadow form behaves in this way then protective spirit would reduce the damage that you take.
And then Snowkissed said:
"ph34r m3"
Angrily shaking pompoms.
I have tested this method and..it.does.not.work.
