Are you a PVP/PVP seperatist, or a GW is all one game unionist (Anet stance)

I'm inspired by this thread http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=393825 . I never realised how strongly the PVE crowd felt about FoW/UW since I and a lot of other people consider it to be "optional". However their points are completely valid and makes me realise that all the crying about skills over on TGH and PvP affecting PVE FoW/UW have a lot in common.

The issue is whether or not you consider both sides of the game to be seperate or disagree that there are even sides at all and people should learn to play both. This is the bigger issue overarching the other two and I'm curious to know how people feel about it.

Are you a seperatist? You don't ever want to have to touch PVE or PVP, whichever you don't enjoy and are repulsed by. You don't want to put up with 13 y/o elitists who call you noobs, or imposed "work" grind to play the game you want, and the game you wish you could recommend to your friends if only they didn't have to "Grind" first.

Are you a unionist? You play both or you think people should play both. This game is a hybrid model and there should be ties between one mode of play and the other and the people that play them. if you only play one aspect you are shortchanging yourself. This is the Anet stance.

I know which one I am, separatist, but in practice I actually play both but there are more than enough people who prefer to stay on their side of their fance and not be impacted by what they don't enjoy.

Unionist, It's all part of the same game and I like the option of doing either.

As per your definition I guess I am a Unionist. I have played both, most of my PVP time was move them 5 months ago, now I mainly play PVE. Frankly the game doesnt need to be broken into 2 parts. There are way to combine the 2 and give those who mainly PVE a chance to PVP and vice-versa without it being forced on them.

and no, I wasn't looking for a result but I was trying to insinuate that we actually have more in common than apart. I didn't start a thread, I started a poll because I recognised that there is a greater issue at hand and to not only give both sides of it a chance to express themselves and to get something more constructive that Gaile could use.

The reason why, despite a sizeable "vocal minority" on each end wanting changes, Anet will never satisfy because they feel everyone must play together and one size fits all. This is a chance to see whether that is true or we are more splintered.

As per your definitions: You play both or think people should play both. I have played both and I think that finding some way to ALLOW people to play both if THEY desire is how I feel.

you can do any of the 3 and have fun. pvp only, pve only, or both. IMHO the game would eventually get old if you picked pve or pvp only, but even that would take a long time.

I don't see this pushing and shoehorning. At all. I am 100% in control of my own choices, so if I choose to go down to the FoW, I have to wait until my server has favor. Big deal, so some of the things I want to do have conditions with them; what in life doesn't?

I'm leery about leaving this topic open, but for now it's a valid one, if a bit slanted. For example, I do not consider myself to be either a seperatist or a unionist by the definitions given above. I am quite happy to PvE most of the time, or PvP if my guild wants me to, and all I feel I am doing is playing different aspects of the same game.

This attitude of a game with rifts between two sets of players is serving to do nothing more than widen that rift even further.
