If you want to do a Rt + Mo character, assuming you want to specialize in a healing/prot 'role', stick to Monk, they are better at it.

Ritualist are flexible characters, if you don't use the flexibility, you are better off picking a specialist profession.

PS.: /Rt is a better healing secondary than /Mo, because /Rt doesn't lose out on Divine Favor, and /Rt have more self-castable heals/prots.

Okay, thanks. What profession would fit good together with the ritualist then? :)

All of them are useful for one thing or another.

Necros and Rangers are great for synergetic reasons.
Warriors and Assassins have defensive abilities.
Mesmers have mantra of resolve (quite useful for using 3-5 second skills), anti-hex, distortion and more.

I don't see the use of Rt/E, except maybe for using Attuned Was Songkai with Elementalist spells.

And a Rt won't get more out of /Mo than any other caster.

Ultra party defense? I don't see the point though when Union and Shelter make the wards redundant and comparably limited (I mean, look at the area of effect on a ward compared to a spirit's influence).

    Rt/Me with iHex, channeling, drainE.

Just Restoration + inspiration, simple solid combination if you want to do a Rt healer.

I am using a Rt/E that I am really enjoying. I usually run a Communing Build with Wards to help protect the spirits not the party. If I am not using that I am a Channeling/Air spiking. Those two work very well together.

But the use of Wards is more of an added defense to help keep your spirits alive when under direct attack from melee mobs. Though I am only doing PvE.

During the FPE I also used an Rt/E build though in a different function than what I am using now. I used Earth and Channeling, knockdowns and aftershock worked great, basic build I used is:
    1) Earthbind
    2) Dragon Stomp
    3) Aftershock
    4) Grasping was Kuurong
    5) Sliver Armor
    6) Armor of Earth
    7) Spirit Rift
    8) Ash Blast/Essence Strike/Flesh of My Flesh

Though I guess you could do the same build with higher earth damage as a primary Ele instead of Rt.

Well I guess that kills that ideal but either way I still find wards to be useful as a Rt/E. Plus Armor of Earth/Sliver Armor are nice with aggro goes wrong and enemies start to jump all over you.

With running my Communing build with Armor of Earth and Ward against Melee I am only 20,000xp away from getting my Survivor title with using nothing but henchies the whole way.
