I got the latest drivers, re-installed windows 3 times. But it keeps crashing.

Have you contacted support? That is, ArenaNet support? They'd probably have better suggestions than the guesses we'd be able to give.

But I thought perhaps someone here had/has the same problem and had a fix for it.

Do other games crash? How long has this problem been happening? Is it before or after Factions release? Have you done the dxdiag test as posted in the troubleshooting thread?

I use to have a crashing problem months ago. That was due to overheating.
Placing a fan near the pc solved that problem.
After months not playing I decided to buy Factions. Installed it, and it crashed.
So I bought a new memory stick to expend my memory to 1Gb, thinkin that would help something. Which it didnt.

Rose Online does crash every now and then.
But not quite as often as GW.

I also had problems with Sims2. But I think that has been fixxed after the memory expansion. (at least, I didnt had a crash after).

I did a memtest 86 last night (which took hours, and wasn't fully complete). And it failed at several tests 8 t/m 11 (took 10 hours!)

Ill try using my new memory stick now. (removing the older one) hope that helps.

I did the dxdiag test indeed. But couldnt find anything that could help me fixing the problem. No errors or something.

When having one memory chip in the computer it will just Reboot automaticly after xx minutes playing guildwars.

I get the same errors. I had originally 2 512 sticks of pc3200 ram in my comp (1 gig) and added 2 more 512s (2 gigs total) and as soon as I added the 2 gigs Guildwars crashes and gives me the error the OP posted above.

Or I get a total system lockup and have to reboot.

If I remove these 2 new sticks (the ram is the same as my older 2 sticks) Guildwars runs fine.

I too have sent an error report but havent found a solution to the problem except taking out the 2 sticks of ram to play guildwars (and putting them back in again to do anything else)

Notably I can play any other game for hours with no crashes using 2gigs of ram *dual channel setup* Games including Oblivion, Fear, Indigo Prophecy ect..

I too also ram these sticks thru Memtest and after 8-9 hours recieved 0 errors.

Im also running the latest vidcard drivers for my 7800GT and direct x 9.0c.

Hm, interesting note.
I know my pc crashes / auto reboots / gives more memory errors when running guildwars with 2 sticks of 512 here. (i only have2 slots for Ram here)

Yesterday I tried an old Geforce 2 card, which runned pretty fine. Ofcourse crappy details, and very very slow, but it ran without crashing every 5-10.

I think im gonna order a new videocard, that should be the answer.
Just need to look for one that is compatible with my computer/motherboard/powersupply bla :]


AMD Athlon XP, 2166 MHz (13 x 167) 3000+
I have no idea how much my powersupply is (how many Watts).
There is some diagram on it with different codes to the left, voltages on the upper part, and Wattages at the right. Ampere in the middle.
But I can't find those codes back on the power supply.
Perhaps when opening the thing up, which i rather do not :p
