I'd say that wouldn't be too unbalanced, as long as it costs 120 energy (cut down to about 24 by double attunement admittedly, but you'd need to sacrifice half you're energy regen)... and the recharge was doubled as well.Originally Posted by Guildoholic
edit: better make it a 10 sec cast too so it's easy to interrupt. And a pillar of water appears above your head so everyone knows to target you.
woah thats a heaps good idea but id cut down the hp recovered. maybe heals 50 and gives +3 regeration. yeah if they had a skill like that it'd be hell awsome.Originally Posted by Guildoholic

Wavepool
Cost: 15 energy
Cast time: 2 seconds
Recharge time: 35 seconds
For 4..22 seconds, area around target ally becomes a Wavepool. Non-spirit creatures in the Wavepool have a 50% chance of being knocked down every 2 seconds. Creatures knocked down in the Wavepool are healed for 25..70 health.
Attribute: Water Magic (increases duration and amount healed)
I figure it would about the size of a ward or well, and could be used to make people think twice about knocking down that monk, as well as acting as an annoying source of healing that stays consistant with what water magic does best (annoy people).

I can't speak for hammer warriors, but mesmers poor in PvE?!? With all due respect, I think that you are one of the too numerous people out there who don't realize the incredibly indispensable asset a good domination mesmer truly is in PvE. Ever notice the name of the skill loading on a foe, and all of a sudden, it stops dead in its course? Yeah - that is likely your little domination mesmer working his/her butt off to stop that foe from casting any spells in the first place. Mesmers poor in PvE? I don't think so. You know how some monks bosses take a real long time to kill? If you got a good domination mesmer with you who knows their stuff, they will allow the damage dealers to kill him in under 10-15 seconds by interrupting any healing or protection spell that the boss monk is trying to cast!Originally Posted by Xunlai Agent
They are and sadly may always remain the unspoken heroes, for those who don't own (or know how to use) a mesmer...
But I digress - this is the elementalist section! ... I had to say this about mesmer though... gotta educate some players out there about the virtues of the mesmer even if it's just a handful...![]()

I agree Lais, Mesmers are awesome.
I went through the Temple mission last night, 2 rangers, 2 mesmers, 2 warriors (although one dropped part way) and the 2 healer hench. We didn't set any speed records but man was it fun. Would have been perfect if we could have found a couple of real people to monk for us but, meh, whatever.
If you can't have fun, what's the point?

In short, Mesmers rock.
As for the topic.... I agree that a little bit of healing in the water line would be beneficial and not at all unbalancing. As mentioned, water is the element of life and healing. Problem lies however that the religion and elements of GW are a bit off. Dwayna represents air and life. Balth fire and war. Melandru earth and nature. Grenth ice and death. All sensible, except that they've made water=ice. I would also like to see more actual water in the water line and less ice. In fact, splitting the current Water Magic into two separate attributes, Water Magic and Ice Magic, sounds more appropriate. Then you can have your kiting damage plus slowing (which also agree, slowing attack a bit on some spells would be appropriate), as well as a separate line of damaging spells that do a bit of healing. Plus both with a distinctive set of support spells. Anyways, that's an idea I've been toying with for a while.
Wavepool, very well thought out I think, highly appropriate for a water elementalist. The cooling splash of water idea, while a joke (and a very bad one at that), is actually a pretty decent spell also, just needing balanced numbers.
As for water actually splashing, ...suffice to say a water staff does not nor would not splash actual water. Nor does an air staff throw sparks, fire shoot flames, earth toss dirt, or ice chuck cubes. They're infused with the essence of the various elemental energies, the same energy which is manipulated by spells.
Anyways, yes for healing.![]()
