Yesterday, i was playing HA and sudenly i began to lag and then my connection dropped with an error 7. I thought, np i ll reconnect but when i want to connect i get this. This is staying like this untill i get Unable to connect..





I alrdy reseted my router, restarted my pc, checked firewall, tried on a different pc, tried a different router. But i can never log in.


any1 has an idea or had this before and can help me??

Strange indeed, since last friday 23 of june I'm also unable to connect to Guild Wars, always giving me the 058 error.

The day before everything was working perfect but now, Guild Wars won't connect on any of the computers. Not behind a router, no firewal, no anti-virus or something like it.

What in the world could this be ?

Out of curiosity, are either of you trying to connect from a place like work, university, etc.? If so, it's possible that an administrative policy might be blocking connections to that site.

I haven't checked if Guildwars uses DNS to lookup the names of the servers. If it does, perhaps it's possible that you have a DNS record cached that needs to timeout (Pointing at the wrong IP)

The last suggestion I can make would be to discover what it is trying to connect to. (Any packet sniffer will tell you that) Then attempt a telnet connection to the same ip+port. That should tell you if it's the client / your connection. Then you can begin bugging either your ISP / provider for reasons why. Connections from my laptop were made to:

206.127.145.18:6112
216.107.241.24:6112
222.231.12.55:6112
216.107.240.230:6112

All TCP and 6112 is the port GW uses. Should add, I can connect fine here ... lemme just double check ... yup fine.

Nope I'm not connecting from work or university, just home but thanks for the tips katya.

The only option now is mailing Anet and my isp, but I'm not looking forward to mail them and get those silly replies that blame my unexistant router, firewall or anti-virus. (I'll try the packet sniffing first and run the netinfotool from Anet once more to double check)

I do not get a static ip from my isp, could it be possible that on friday 23th of june my ip changed to one that is blocked by Anet for one reason or another ?

Thanks for all the help katya, but it seems I located the problem five minutes ago.

I went to the games forum of my internet provider and discovered a thread called "Error = 058". It seems as of last friday a lot of people that use this provider are having the same problem. Someone found out port 6112 makes it way through port 23 or something like that, but I'm not certain. This would be the reason why none of use makes it to the authentication. We time out all the time...

Internet provider = Telenet
Location = Belgium

At least it's not my fault, we just have to wait until my provider finds some time to fix this. It's been 3 days now...stop this suffering.

Hi everyone,
I've been getting the error 058 too. It's been about 3 days. I can connect if I restart my computer, and restart again. It seems like eventually I can login, but not when I first boot up my computer. I'm connecting from west coast Canada, and I'm using an ADSL provider called Telus.

I do have a router, and there are two computers connecting to the internet through it. Both computer are getting the same thing. Firewall settings are all good. Not sure what this could be.

GAhhhh, I just purchased the access key, and downloaded the client, I am too getting the code=58. I did notice in the top right hand corner there looks to be something downloading or something, there is a little yellow ligthning bolt thing with numbers in MB's that keep climbing, Im not sure if it is the game downloading or loading or what. I have yet been able to play. Please help. Is there anyone else that doesnt have the Cd and bought the key online that can explain what is supposed to happen.
