Items picked up on missions. What to do with them?

I gather everything that falls. Looking for some guidelines on what items you just sell off to merchants. What items should you save for trading? Are those items with health point worth keeping? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Unless it's max damage and has max mods I usually sell everything off to the merchants. If it has max/perfect mods sometimes it worth attempting to salvage out the mods to sell. It just depeneds. In general, identify and sell white items to the merchant.

For blue items, identify the item and see what sort of qualities it has. Items with the Precious quality should be sold to the merchant. Items with the Highly Salvageable quality should expert salvaged for crafting materials since it's often more profitable to sell the crafting materials to the material trader or other players.

For purple items, identify the item and see what sort of qualities it has. Purple items occasionally carry valuable mods which are worthwhile salvaging out and selling to other players.

For gold items, it depends very much on the skin of the weapon, its inherent mods, and its salvagable mods. Some are worth hundreds of thousands of gold, while others are more worthwhile selling to the merchant. The best advice I can give is to watch the Trade channel in the major towns and see what are the most pricy items on sale; those are the popular mods/items.

Where runes are concerned, make sure to check the Rune trader in town before salvaging or selling runes. Some runes are next to worthless at the trader, and its more worthwhile to sell the runed armor to the merchant rather than salvage the rune off.

For salvage items (which are usually monster body parts), some are quite valuable, while others are better off sold straight to the merchant. Again, watch the Trade channel in towns to see which items are in demand.
