I didn't realize 50 Shades of Grey was meant to be a Twilight fan-fiction originally; I just now discovered that. And it makes me cringe because this idiot who can't write is making all Twilight fans look bad because THIS is supposed to be based off it? /facepalm Doesn't come close. Twilight isn't a porno, FYI. If they wanted to do a fan fiction, they should do my idea (which I won't share for copyright reasons ).

OMG seeing everyone reading it though, now that's hilarious! Yeah, it's so hot that Gilbert Gottfried read it, and Ellen's reaction - "Don't eat the pancakes!" Indeed. Yeah, that's definitely not what a spatula is meant for. I don't even know what they're doing with it but I can only imagine. But Duke Nukem takes the cake. So that's the guy who does the voice. roflmao I'm laughing so hard I'm getting weird looks from everyone in the room. Who else, who else reads it?!?!

Uh, excuse me? Everyone says the author of 50 Shades of Crap Grey can't write. The fact that the story supposedly started out as a Twilight fan fiction is insulting. Then the story gets turned into a porno. It makes all Twilight fans look bad because this person, who is a fan of the series, attempted to write a fan fiction of it and THIS is the result. /facepalm

Otherwise, though, I agree. But fanfiction is generally amateurs taking inspiration from something successful, so yeah, you can't take that too seriously. At least, you can't compare it with the real thing.

I'll agree with that, Alaris. I'm just glad the author strayed away from Twilight and did her own thing. Though obviously it sucked. I should look up more people reading portions of that book, they're hilarious.

I think maybe the reason Shades of whatever is so popular is because it's so horrifically bad. People are reading it to see if it's really as awful as everyone says.

OOH! I just thought of a great idea! The Marquis De Sade's work is all public domain. It's dreamy bondage porn too, plus it's well written, we'd have built-in name recognition for the author, and we don't even have to pay him! If we put it in print and gave it the whole "mass market book" treatment, we could make a fortune!
