    Currently seeking a new guild~

First off I'd like to say, forgive my lack of posts on this forum. I've been playing GW for quite a while now, and I've also been a lurker at this forum for what's become a decent length of time, too. (I just hadn't gotten around to joining until recently heh) So please do not be turned off by my lack of a post count and take it as a lack of experience.
    Anywho!

Right now I've been finding more and more that I'm unhappy with my current guild and I've decided to search for a new one. (My current isn't bad per say, just not what I want from a guild)
First off I'll list a few things that I require in a guild right now.

1)- I really want a guild with older members (18+). I'm nineteen years old, and as much as I respect the fact some younger players can be very intelligent and mature people I really do prefer the company of people closer to my own age. Mainly due to the fact I've found I could relate to them more in a non in game sense, plus lets face it, many younger members are very immature, and to be frank, I just do not want to deal with that when I play GW.
2)- I want a guild who's chat is active, but also intelligent. I like a guild where the members actually hold a conversation, and interact. But I -really- hate guilds where the chats are over run with annoying spam or nonsense. Furthermore I hate when the chats have content such as "omfg can u run me to *location here* or "I wunt 2 bi *item here* HELP MI PLZZZZZZZ!11111!!".
3)- I want a guild who does pve runs such as farming, FOW, UW, ect. And I do not mean a guild that has a little click set up where only certain core members actually are invited to the runs, but a guild that includes everybody. Now, granted, I understand everyone can join in for each thing, but there is a difference between only certain members getting to do the runs most of the time, or everyone getting to join in for different things at different times.
4)- I'd like to see some sort of ACTIVE chat program. (this means I want people who get on and talk on a regular basis, not a guild who has the program but people hardly/never use it) Either vent or TS. On a personal level I prefer vent because it's already on my computer, but if TS is easy to download/run/use then I wouldn't have any objections to getting that. Also on a side note- My voice on chat programs gets a bit funky due to a not so amazing mic. And, I'd strongly prefer a guild who didn't make issue of this since it's annoying enough for me as is.
5)- I like to see open minds in a guild. Guilds with members who are racists, sexiest, ect are not the type of guilds I wish to involve myself with. When I play GW I like to have a calm, fun time. So dealing with stupidity such as that is simply out of the question for me.
6)- I strongly prefer a guild who's sided with Luxon at the moment. However, this really isn't a requirement since I'd probably go back to Kurzik for the right guild.

If you'd like me in your guild know that I will do all I can to improve a guild which I like, so you can count on the fact I will be a quality member of your guild.
Also, please post your guild info in the thread if you can. Although I'm not completely against reading a web site, I do prefer to just read your information directly. Or, if you'd rather not post it, then you can also use the PMs which is absolutely fine as well.
Can't wait to hear from you, and thanks!<3

And finally, a bit of information about me.
    Name IRL: Holly.
    Age: 19
Character's in game: October Twilight (20- R/W and sometimes R/Mo), mainly. Although I have many alts at different levels so I can fill almost any role in a group between my main and alts.
How Active I am?: Very, at the moment.

    Hello holly,

After reading your post I believe wintersbane [bane] may have what you are looking for .. we are kurzick but you do know guild affiliation doesnt effect character affilitation you can be luxon personally but in a kurzick guild/alliance .. just means you bound to kurzick side when alliance fighting etc ..

I believe we may have the requirements you posted meet as well
We are a small guild but growing as we gather new members.. our chat is active and intelligent.. we have TS but many like to use the text chat alot as well .. so you get both depending on who is on and what we are doing ... so that area may be a bit iffy as to your needs -- we have our own server for TS and so forth but not everyone uses its all the time 100% but its used ..

Ok before I get to wordy and long winded here .. simply stop by our website

    leave a message

also you contact me here at gwoline..

It might not have everything you're looking for, but Pointless Clan [PC]'s always in need of membs. I can't run a TS or Vent server (which is kind of embarrassing for a Leader), and the guild is pretty inactive (I'm chalking it up to the fact that many take this game far too seriously and I recruited most of the membs from Shing Jea) but I am trying to change that. BUT! The members that do bother talking are mature (despite a couple of problems which resulted in a 16 y.o. joining).

The guild itself is sadly quiet but there's usually a busy Alliance channel and the actives do take part in runs, even trying to invite other members along. We're all open-minded too and anyone who does act sexist, racist etc will get punished accordingly.

If you're even willing to bother with this guild give me a PM. My IGN's the same as my Forum name.
[EDIT] Erm, forgot to say, we are Luxon...

Even though you are looking for a Luxon allied guild, I would still like to put my guild's info out there for ya.

We are Royal Order of Ascalon, lead guild of an 8 guild Kurzick allied alliance. To answer some of your "demands:"

    1. We do not have an age requirement, so I do not know how old the youngest is. I do know that our guild's activeness went down right around the time school started. We do NOT allow immaturity. All of the officers are adults, and none of us will tolerate any kind of immaturity. However, I cannot speak for the other guilds in the alliance. Usually those that beg and whine don't stay around for very long, though.

    2. Our guild chat isn't like that, but alliance chat can, unfortunately, get like that. Like I said in #1, those people usually don't stay around too long after.

    3. When we do FoW or UW, you better make sure you have 5+ hours to play cuz we love clearing the place. We have our group of 4 or 5 that tend to go all the time, and the rest is filled with whoever gets to the place we're leaving from first. We almost have enough people to have two parties go at the same time.

    4. Currently we are sharing a 16-person Ventrilo with a guild who we are friendly with, so when they are GvG'ing or HoH'ing, not as many of us can get online. The owner is still waiting on his phone company to lay some lines so that he can get an unlimited chat service. We've been waiting all summer for it!

    5. This is something we do NOT tolerate and will get someone kicked IMMEDIATELY.

    6. Sorry, I wanted to go with Luxon too, but everyone else in the alliance wanted Kurzick. Don't ask me why!

Anyway, our guild is more like a family. We love kicking back and having a good ol' time. We love teasing each other, etc. Again, I can only speak for *our* guild.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to pm our leader Silver Polarbear or my husband Arthur Victus. You might be able to catch me online on Kahlan Cyfer. I haven't been able to be as active lately due to my oldest starting school, etc.

    Hello Holly,

I am not sure if you still remember me. Long time ago, you were also looking for a guild, but unfortunately by the time, I contacted you on behalf of the ARKangels, you had already found your home. You may not remember me as there were many guilds writing you just like now. Now that you are looking for a new guild again, I am again hopeing that you want to take a look at our guild. A lot has changed since then. Back then we were a struggling guild that was going to rebuild with the vision of building a stable, mature, active and tight-knit community revolving around the Guild Wars universe. With the dawning of Nightfall, we are no longer struggling. But the maintainance and improvement of our guild are a continuous priority.

To tell you a bit about us without the need to go to the website, we, the ARKangels, currently have about 50 members (who logged in within the last week or less) and belong to a dedicated active and friendly community alliance of 10 guilds headed by the Survivors of Rydin [SoR] that is sides with the Luxon faction. This alliance is actually working. We have regular, joint alliance meetings, events, and even a joint alliance Vent server that makes interacting with other alliance members easy. Concerning our members are balanced between PvP and PvE. Most of our guild members are in the American time zones spread between PST and EST and being most active during the evening hours as most members in our guild are (or will shortly be) in college and/or working. We do have a few members from Europe. Of the 50 members, we have between 12-13 active PvP players, with a few more people moving from the PvE side to the PvP side. We are serious about the PvP side but rather than focusing on results (ak rank), we would just like to have fun by learning to play as a team - not as elite indivduals. Because we do both PvE and PvP, I should emphasize that no one is forced to play what he/she doesn’t want to play. We have members who play both PvP and PvE, and those who only play PvE. Another piece of information you will want to know is that of over 50 members, we have about 3-4 members who are younger than 18.

These are the things we value in our guild:

1.) Balance. Our guild does not see PvE and PvP as opposing paradigms, but complementing dynamic halves. We, therefore, look for players if they don’t do both have the tolerance for the other half.
2.) Understanding. For the above reason and many more, we are looking for members who are understanding of the PvE and PvP side in us. But this also applies to tolerance and understanding towards members who are learning an aspect of the game they are not familiar with.
3.) Maturity. We like having fun with each other, but we believe that it is possible to do so while being respectful to each other. This means that our guild does not tolerate cursing and bashing especially if it is continuous and repeated.
4.) Community. Our guild is not a random group of people who never interact. The Arkangels [ARK] are a community of groups of friends that have joined the guild to be part of a larger entity. For you this should mean having little trouble finding a group of friendly gamers to join you on a mission or quest. We use the guild chat option at times, but if you don’t see much guild chatter going on, we would encourage you to log onto our Alliance Vent server because talking often times is faster and more convenient than typing.
    5) Activity. We do not expect that you will be on everyday, however a reasonable level of in-game activity is desired. We also value forum participation. As member in our guild, you will be expected to check the forums regularly and participate in them reasonably as this is part of the community feel also. Having the fortunate luck of having an alliance-wide Vent server, we also encourage our members to use this server more when they are on or off the game. Everything happens within the reasonable because we are understanding of limitations set by real life. Many of our members are also busy professionals, parents or students with hectic schedules of their own.
6.) Showing Initiative. This is the point dearest to my heart. To maintain an active and fun guild, we need members to be guild-builders, that is, active, dedicated, loyal and interested in making the guild experience an enjoyable one by helping others (see Guild Conduct Guidelines). We believe that a bad situation can be made better by taking initiative rather than crossing your hands and complaining. For this and many other reasons, we strive to be a people's guild rather than an officer's only guild where officers do all the work and members only sometimes participate. We have members who are willing to take charge and responsibility for whatever task that needs to be done (within reason of course). The result is synergistic as this means that when you want to do something, other members will be there to help you as well. But in turn, you will be expected to do the same. So in other words, in addition to asking what the guild can do for you, ask what you can do for the guild.

    How to apply:

We only take applications through our website @ www.eternitylost.com . To apply:

1.) Go to our webpage, and read our guild code as well as applicant criteria.
2.) If you have questions, ask one of our officers or the guild leader.
3.) Create an account and answer the questions that are part of the applicant criteria thread. An officer will talk to you in-game to answer any last-minute questions you may have, and to go over expectations again.

BUT, if you have any questions, and don’t quite want to commit to signing up with a new forum yet, you can also either talk to me in-game, send me a pm here.

    A note on our alliance

We realize that different guilds have different cultures and habits that may be more or less appealing to different people. For this reason, I would also like to refer the reader of this thread to check out our alliance guilds that are equally good in different ways. Our allied guilds who are also looking for members are:

    - Survivors of Rhydin [SoR]: A tight-nit guild community of about 50 total members with many knowing each other in real life. This guild is currently known for its faction farming fervor (close to 1,000,000 faction points) and PvE centric views although some PvP is done here too. This is the leading guild.
    - The Seraphim Knights [TSK]: Another very friendly community of about 45 members total who are equally interested in PvE and PvP. The Alliance Ventrillo server is partially managed by members in this guild.
    - Protectors of Peace [PoP]: A more PvE based guild with about 45 members where some members optionally but fervently do faction farming fervor second to only SoR with about 700,000 faction points.

Other members in our guild include:

[SSMM], [PC], [eXa], [SWGE], [UB] and [ET]

Despite the differences, we are all united by values of equality, respect for each member guild and its members but also equal respect for any other player of online games, and enjoyment of joint activities. To find out more about our alliance you can link to it from our website.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

hello holly. i'm an officer in sik-affliction. dont let the name throw you. we are quite a mature guild with people as old as 31. most of us are in our 20's. this guild was started during the beta test period and has been around for a long time. we are a luxon guild and enjoy both PvE and PvP. so what separates us from most guilds? i would have to say it's our conversations and our postings. we are witty, funny, and love a chat. our numbers are down from 2 years ago but we have been getting a number of new players from all around the world. this is what makes the feeling so special in our guild. chatting and getting to know people from Europe to Hawaii is an everyday occurence. we have an especially humorous group from Canada. i hope you will check us out. please PM with any further questions. sincerely, IGN - Domino Martis

    hi Holly!

Let me introduce you to the Mature Gaming Association (MGA).

The goal of MGA is to create a haven of mature, safe, creative, fun, honest, hack-free game play. We have an age requirement of 18+ but our average age is around 27 and we are parents, grandparents, career people, homemakers and students. We stress importance on mutual respect, helping one another and fun above all else.

Our primary interest is PvE. We do have some casual interest in PvP, but if your main focus is PvP, then we are definitely not the guild for you.

We are Kurzick aligned and our alliance maintains a focus on keeping gameplay mature, respectful and fun, as well. We often organize runs to Urgoz, the Deep, etc and encourage anyone from our guilds to come along on the adventure.

We offer a Teamspeak server and forums for planning and keeping in touch with other members.

Being you are 18+, if you enjoy playing in a mature and casual environment with excellent teamwork, where fun is the main focus, then the MGA may be the home you’ve been seeking.

If you think MGA would be a good fit for you, or if you have any questions, please PM me here or contact Darin James, or Cher Lindrea in game.
